It does what it supposed to do but I would rank this product in the same category as the apple mouse. Neither are great products but they do what the designers intended. The battery slides around, doesn't really provide any feedback on the charge status (unless connected to the phone) and isn't sufficiently powerful enough to run the phone without draining the phone battery.

While Apple products are highly advertised as “thee best”, I must disagree on this particular product. For the record, I have ALL Apple products: iPhone 12pro, 3 iPads, laptops, iMac, etc. 1. I should’ve waited until the next generation of this battery pack because it doesn’t charge my phone as much as it should for $99! They have not gotten all the “kinks” out. I have other “off brand” battery magnetic packs that charge far better and longer. If you’re paying $100 for a battery pack, shouldn’t it actually CHARGE your device fully (and not 50-60% as other reviewers have also noted)? Apple missed the mark on this and I will be returning it. 2. There is no light indicator to show if it’s charged or dead. So it’s a huge gamble as to whether or not your devices will be charged. 3. Don’t buy this 1st generation @$99. Wait until they improve it.

Using it with the Apple Leather case on a 12 Pro Max, I noticed that this didn’t align reliably and would be crooked. Also noticed that as it attaches you can hear a spring type of vibration. So disappointed as this was a nice backup battery to leave in my backpack.

I bought this product direct from Apple. It works exactly as described. You can charge it and your phone at the same time, you can charge it VIA your phone (reverse charging). It’s the slimmest and best looking battery pack, but at less than 1500mAh I have to give it 3 stars. There are other products that are cheaper and have a higher charge. As great and sleek and “integrated” as this thing is (it does pack a ton of tech), I can’t recommend spending $100 on this.

For $100 you can get better ones that are smaller, hold a longer charge. This one snaps off almost every time I put it in my pocket. I don’t like the MagSafe feature, the bottom of the battery pack ALWAYS moves rotates

So I just purchased this item and it’s ok. We obviously know it’s apple so all there products are over priced and this one is no different. Battery life goes quick and actually I feel I really get better battery life with just my regular iPhone 12. So does it extend the battery life yeah but not by a lot of your a heavy user. And I’m not one of those, but still the battery pack drains fast. So as stated it ok, but just find a cheaper model. Not worth the $99 price tag.

This thing has a simple design. It’s just a square with that logo we all loved. But even if it’s simple, it looks awesome. Now, as a product, it’s not worth the money at all. It won’t charge your phone completely, and the battery pack will be drained before three hours. I work at Staten Island, far from home, so I need to keep my phone charged. It can be useful if I wanna use it for no more than 20 percent without charging the pack every day. But come on, a hundred bucks and it won’t charge your whole phone? It’s extremely over priced. I won’t return it cause it was with a gift card but it’s not worth the price, people. It’s way expensive, and it hurts me say it cause I love Apple.

I bought this from BestBuy and tried it for a few days. I am aware it’s not a charger but a battery extender. That means you have to keep this white backpack on your phone for a long time because folks this charges the phone really slow 🐢 and if your using the phone while it’s on the back of the phone then the battery level will go down, not up. It will go up if your not using the phone and the screen is off but very slowly. I really really wanted to like this. I was so excited about this product but it is definitely not for everyone. I am sticking to my USB-C Anker Wired’s fast charger with power delivery. Why you ask? Because I can connect it to my iPhone and in 30 min my iPhone percentage will go up between 45 snd 50 percent. Who doesn’t have 30 min to let their phone charge and if I’m using it then it will still go up. Get the Anker USB-C to lightning cable the nylon one. It’s great. Here is the battery I recommend. It has power delivery so it can charge your phone at 18W. The MagSafe battery pack charges at 5v and many times it doesn’t charge to protect the iPhone battery from heat or it will charge slower to prevent it from heating up. It’s not wireless Anker PowerCore 10000 PD Redux, 10000mAh Portable Charger USB-C Power Delivery (18W) Power Bank for iPhone 11/12 / Mini/Pro/Pro Max / 8 / X/XS Samsung S10, Pixel 3/3XL, iPad Pro 2018, and More Also, this battery gives off a ton of EM radiation that can be harmful. See below. This was from the paperwork that nobody reads from the inside of the Apple MagSafe battery pack box. So based on this you should not have the battery closer than 8 inches so you don’t get exposure to the EM. It says this. I am not making this up. Read the paper that came in the Apple MagSafe battery box. It writes Exposure to Radio Frequency Energy The radiated output power of the MagSafe Battery Pack meets applicable radio frequency exposure limits. The MagSafe Battery Pack should be operated with a minimum separation distance of 20 cm (8 inches) between the MagSafe Battery Pack, or any devices on the MagSafe Battery Pack, and a person's body.

Charging speed is not that fast. I would expect battery life to be better. Apple design is always great.
