I purchased this vacuum to get the under appliance attachment. I also have a Rocket and love it. This vacuum is not as good. The pet hair roll get clogged up quickly. I've also noticed that the vacuum won't pick up sand or powdered carpet deodorizer. Overall, the Rocket is a better machine even though an under appliance attachment is not available.

Got this to replace another model shark no longer makes. Past two years, the shark vacuums seem to have many issues. It seems they are using a lesser quality factory. Including replacement parts that dont fit like originals.This vertex was so loud that my houseguests had to leave due to the ear piercing screech from the vaccum. My earaches continued for 3days. The high pitch is waaay past the 77-80 decibel. The second handheld motor to fix the first one that overheated is same way. I could hear my daughter vacuuming her room loudly from my yard and while inside my car ,windows closed. The other issue is the heat. It runs so hot that I have little doubt that this is a true fire hazard machine. Yes i empty the cup faithfully. Also dirt debris gets stuck around the "v" cone inside dust cup. Also the machine cannot stand alone. The great thing is the powerfins duo clean.!!! These are genius. They also wear out in a few months overhard floors. I have used sharks for years. I can rebuild them easily and liked that I could keep the machines longer. However I barely get a year out of one and with this vertex only used it three or four times before it did these very poor new tricks. Why cant we get a simple working lightweight vacuum anymore? I wonder if there is any other brand that is affordable and at least holds up for a year of normal house vacuuming. So hopefully buyers will at least add the warranty and choose carefully.
