I really wanted to like this but, the conical part that actually heats up is quite small. I was hoping for an larger surface to get closer to the scalp. My hair is just past my shoulders, so I would need to curl my sections twice. It heats up super quick though and is easy to maneuver.

I was really excited to get this specific curling iron because it looks like a conehead, pretty funny, and I wanted spiral spiral curlies!! So when I got it, I immediately turned it on, put on the little black glove it came with and attempted to spiral my hairs. first impression was great, I put it on a 1 inch thick strand of hair, and bouncy bounce came down the curl.. showed my sister she thought cool. The second time I wanted to Really use it, all over.. I found it to be extremely time consuming, and ur arms get tired so u end up with a crazy cur hairstyle all over... u have to have great arms to make these look perfect. cuz like I said ur arms get really tired and u end up looking crazy.. more like some crazy waves... so yeah. guess if u have time and muscles this is a good one.

Hi there, This is the second time I've purchased this iron. My first one I had for about 5years, and absolutely adored, until the day it just stopped working... but it was due. It had run it's course. I excitedly purchased another, I haven't been using it too often (home for summer and trying to preserve my fine hair's health.) I plugged it in the other day, and it wouldn't get hot. I raised the heat settings, still nothing. I thought it was the outlet, so I just plugged it into another one, after 2-3 mins I raised the heat to over 300 degrees and was able to roll the barrel of the iron up and down the inside of my forearm... it doesn't heat up. Can you replace it? Thanks.
Trish
If you've never used a curling wand, be warned that it takes some practice and getting used to and can be kind of awkward. First of all, I have short hair that is just above my shoulders, so it can be a little difficult to use this iron because of the fact that you have to wrap the short strands around it without managing to burn yourself. Luckily I haven't burned myself (yet), but I was paranoid about doing so. The iron is very hot, so you don't have to hold your hair in place very long. Be sure to use a heat protector so you don't fry your hair! I've used this iron three times, and each time my hair turned out different. I watched some tutorials on YouTube to give the best tips of how to get the kind of curl you want, which helped a lot! I've decided to let my hair grow out a little more. I think the look this wand gives hair is a little better suited for longer hair than mine.

Poor rating only because it didn’t work for me. I have medium length hair, just slightly past my shoulders. The barrel is so short, I could barely wrap enough of my hair around the barrel between the “kick stand” and the cool tip. I will say that the heat is very evenly distributed. I also love the temp. dial and all it’s options. The glove was cool, but I don’t like to use it because it makes it difficult to manipulate the hair.

I bought this as a gift for our 15-year-old daughter from her Amazon wish list. She owns a wide variety of hair styling tools, and she was excited to add this one to her collection. However, it did not meet our expectations, and I would not recommend this product. I’m not even sure this is a legit Hot Tools iron. It looks and feels like a cheap knock off, and its performance was equally disappointing. The iron proved difficult to accomplish the waves and curls it advertised. As my daughter moved from one section of hair to the next, the curls fell almost as quickly. We experimented with various styling sprays before, during and after using the iron, hoping to add longevity to her curls. However, we gave up and returned the iron. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this product.
