This umbrella seems pretty sturdy. When open, the umbrella is huge and provides a lot of shade. The fabric is thick, and when sitting under the umbrella in full sun, it not only blocks the sun but it blocks the heat as well. This is a very welcomed feature since it often gets over 100 degrees Fahrenheit here during the summer. I've only used it for a short time, but so far I like it. It was super easy to put together, and it's easy to operate. I like that it can angle down and shade the evening sun, since that's when I'm out on my patio the most. The only drawback I've noticed so far is that the crank that raises and lowers the umbrella does not seem to lock, and I worry that it might eventually start lowering itself when in the opened position. I guess only time will tell.I am not going to anchor this into the ground, so I purchased four 12x12 concrete pavers to set on top of the handy lip that comes out from the foot of the stand, as well as a 50 lb weight (the kind you fill with sand) to put on top. Hopefully that will keep it from blowing over in windy conditions, which we get a lot.Overall, this seems to be an extremely good buy, since umbrellas of this kind are hundreds of dollars at the big box stores.EDIT: After about a week of use, there are a few things I've noticed. First, I was right about the crank. When in the open position, the crank will start spinning with the slightest breeze and start lowering the umbrella. I will have to figure out a way to secure the crank handle when the umbrella is open.Second, the four concrete pavers and 50 lbs of sand is still not enough to keep the umbrella upright in breezy conditions. We get high winds, so I am concerned about how well this umbrella will hold up. Yesterday it was only slightly breezy (nothing close to the winds we can get) and while I was enjoying the shade, the wind caught the umbrella like a sail and blew the whole thing over, weights, pavers and all. Thankfully there was no damage to the umbrella, but I now have a total of eight pavers, 50 lbs of sand, and two really heavy rocks (probably 30+ lbs each) weighting it down. I sure hope that does the trick!!

Finally set this up late this summer and it worked great.

Bought this as a father's day gift and it actually arrived earlier than expected! We had a minor issue after putting it together, but their customer service was awesome and fixed it within a week. It is nicely built and can be anchored with screws. The umbrella provides alot of shade the material is thick and quality made. It does seem to move alot when the wind blows but any umbrella this size probably would. I would definitly reccomend, actually thinking about purchasing one for my house!

Update 7/20/17: (a couple months later) I kindly let the seller know that the screws were missing from my order and within 24 hours or less, the seller offered to send me screws or get a partial refund to cover the cost of the screws. Since I had already purchased the screws, I took the refund. I greatly appreciate their speedy and kind service. You can tilt it up and down to block the sun, but it doesn't swivel in all directions. I purchased 4-16"x16" patio stones at $4 each to place at the base to keep it weighted. The stones weighed 32lbs each so it is more than enough weight to keep the umbrella grounded.

Box came with a hole in it and missing parts. Seller refunded immediately and sent return label (but I did have to lug the large box to ups). As for the parts I did get, I was not a big fan of having so much plastic make up the main part of the umbrella. The handles especially felt like they weren't going to have a lot of longevity. The umbrella fabric seemed of good quality.

This umbrella works well, at least so far. It does need quite a bit of weight on the base to keep it from toppling over. I got two 12 x 12 concrete pavers and placed them in the corners between the long support foot and the two side ones. I put a concrete block on the back support, although I think two more pavers would work well and look better. This anchors it down quite well and I haven't had any problems with it falling over. It's easy to raise and lower and I have lowered it when it's windy, just to be safe. I use it to cover our hot tub so we can use it in the rain.

For 58.00 and free shipping this is great! I bought 6 18x6 blocks to put on the bottom and have some flower pots to cover it up and it hasn't moved even if it is open and a bit windy. For the price I think this product is great and love the red color.

Package arrived damaged but contents were fine. Using this over our hot tub. The only problem is we have to open it each time to open and close the hot tub cover. When the umbrella is closed it is about one inch above hot tub cover. If we push it up then it is not in the way of opening and closing the cover. However, we don't want to have to push it up and down all the time. So it is easier to open and close umbrella. Over time we may figure out a better way but for now this is working fine for a great price compared to others. If any issues will update.
