Much larger than expected! Couldn’t use for intended purpose but will use it in another way.

Looks great but tips over with the wind too easily...I have weighted in down with sand bags and even tried cement blocks but it still falls over

Great umbrella for the price if you have little to no wind. If that is the case this is a great little umbrella but when the wind picks up slightly not so great 😕

Easy assembly which is good considering the instructions came in German. Construction and overall design quality is not good. Predict two seasons use. Must have base weights. Base not in alignment with hanging weight of umbrella. Will not buy this model or brand again.

I got the umbrella based on the reviews. It provides great shade and looks amazing, however it is definitely not sturdy. The base is very weak and little breeze will cause the umbrella to move and/or fall over. Definitely need to put an additional weigh on the bottom. It doesn’t turn, so in order to move the umbrella, you need to move the entire unit. For the money, I was expecting more.

I do not recommend this for a windy area. I mean a slight breeze will topple this thing. I bought the sand bag to hold it down but it doesn't matter, I think the flaw is the uneven length of the base, it should be long on all sides. I live in Colorado for reference. I guess I will have to talk to my neighbor, they just bought one with a straighter arm and that thing held up with little movement while I picked mine off the ground for the third time.

Update: I contacted the company and they were quick to reply, offering satisfactory resolution of the issue. I appreciate their customer service. I'm updating my review & rating to reflect that, but still going to disclose the original issue.Pros: Large, effective sun shade, easy to manipulate / move around, great price, fast delivery.Con: Ours was only a month old when it broke despite only 5-6 times of use. The inner string snapped and 2 of the arms/connections disconnected. My husband spent hours trying to fix it, which he did, and the replacement string broke, too.

Instructions provided are dense, faint, and in a foreign language, making them nearly unreadable. Yes, you can put it together without instructions (4 x 14 mm bolts and a knob). What you cannot do easily is mount it to the ground without some advice. I just put it together and the instructions make it appear that they are putting 4 paving stones in each corner -- but it does not say so. Also, there is a hole at each end of each leg, making me think, maybe metal tent pegs? A little readable advice would be good.So this is an edit. Tried to put it up one night, with 4 40 lb. pavers in each corner the way it shows, with another 50 lb. bag of river rock on top of those. A very MILD breeze came up and it lifted up like tissue!!! I have not yet figured out how to weigh the base down so the umbrella will not lift off in any wind; it's like a sail and downright scary with the base being so unstable. It's a good price but at this moment, I have not figured out how I could actually use it.Another edit: how I made it through the summer. I think this is the closest you can come to stability: I buried 2 ft pressure-treated 4x4s vertically at each of the ends of the base -- concreted into and flush with the ground. Then I drove 3/8 x 10-inch lag bolts through the ends of the base into the buried 4x4s (I had to use a 3/8 bit to open up the holes slightly). Now the base will not lift off, but if a high wind catches the umbrella, it will spin around in the opposite direction of the wind and I suspect in some scenarios, the umbrellas could be ripped out of the base (it just sits in the two slots). So I bought guy wires and big screw-in-the ground stakes to anchor it down. A lot of work and a lot of expense but we had it at the end of the pool and if it had went into the pool I would have been more than a little upset. I lowered it when not in use and when there was much wind. It is such a big umbrella that there is no totally safe solution, but this is the probably the best possible.

I was impressed with the ease of assembly, but it kinda stops there. This thing is flimsy, the base is made of super thin brake bent or stamped metal and with a decent wind the front foot flexes. The swivel point and the height adjuster are made of flexible plastic, and if there's the slightest of breezes the umbrella takes the wind like a sail. I put a 50lb. sandbag weight built for weighing down these umbrellas and it still blows over, ended up securing to my pool concrete deck with masonry bolts so I wouldnt come home and find it at the bottom of the pool. it's a beautiful umbrella, and i'm sure i'll get a few years usage out of it, but it's not a long term purchase. Buyer beware...
