I bought these tiles for my wife who often misplaces her keys. I found the set up to be very user unfriendly , especially if you are trying to set the tiles up for use by more than one phone. When in use , the not in range message ,comes up often even if the tile is sitting right beside you. Using the chat line for support is slow and cumbersome and can be inconclusive in solving your problem ( although the chat staff themselves seem to be trying to help as best they can).I would not recommend the product.

I’ve bought the tile a few times. I’ve had one that battery died long before the year was up. Another (pro) where the battery was dead upon arrival and that same one that lasted about 2 months before fully died. Replacing the battery did not do anything. They are responsive but it’s a pain to have to keep contacting then

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!!! They say that a person with lost luggage found it with Tile- Tile ONLY works in BLUETOOTH RANGE, 100 feet. Notifications of LOST TILE are only sent if other TILE COMMUNITY members have app active and come within range. When battery is new it works pretty good but you are sucked into replacing by buying again as battery fades. No expiration date found on box to monitor. Will not "track" out of "bluetooth" range. Sometimes wouldn't work 3 feet away. Went through 2 Chat techs and and live Tech who had no acceptable explanation. Offered to send new tile but still admitted that Tile would not perform as was advertised. They say that a person with lost luggage found it with Tile- Tile ONLY works in BLUETOOTH RANGE, 100 feet. These imperfect devices were the best solution available for a while, but I can't wait to get rid of mine and switch to Apple AirTags. The good things about the tile pro? User replaceable batteries, relatively attractive design, integrated attachment point. The worst things about the tile pro? They are totally unreliable. Half of my many Tiles aren't locatable in the app, even when they have fresh batteries and are sitting within a couple of inches of my other Tiles and my phone. lol In years of owning them, they have proven useful a total of one time: the other times, they have proven more a source of frustration than of help. The sense of security that you get from dropping one into your backpack or attaching to your keys might seem reassuring at first, but It is a false sense of security: the vast majority of the times I have tried to use them to locate devices, they have failed for hours or for days at a time to provide useful info. Given how unreliable these products are, I suspect that a massive outmigration from the Tile ecosystem will start the instant a reliable, well-implemented alternative is released.

The general TILE look and feel is one of the best on the market; however, the battery life is not great (~8 months or less), and the iOS application which TILE requires be running in the background 24x7 then provides only two battery status indications (good or dead) there is no in-between. TILE support notes that they will send you a replacement battery when a battery dies (each calendar year), which is of no use if you have already lost your keys and the TILE device is unreachable after only a few months of use. I have needed to contact TILE support on three separate occasions because a device was inaccessible (dead battery); the application history provided zero warnings. The customer service department is designed to loop the person through endless bureaucracy and offers to upgrade/renew in the possible hope that a customer will just give up. TILE phone/chat support can search a standard FAQ (no different than the customer required search before opening a ticket) or refer a PREMIUM customer to a next-level support engineer who can then take days to provide canned e-mail only responses (no call or chat to confirm resolution). TILE had (past-tense) a great product at the product launch that probably needed regular product updates for items such as battery monitoring and style - two years later, it appears to be the same product with a fancier shell. If the consumer is paying for the device up-front and there is no actual battery monitoring with TILE service, I would prefer to find other devices with an eighty to one hundred foot range, no annual charge, and genuine customer service. After purchasing six devices plus paying for PREMIUM support and then still losing keys, feeling brushed off by support, and constantly having to buy my replacement batteries (as they were never shipped by TILE); I have canceled recurring yearly service and started searching online for anything other than TILE for any future purchases.

I had a previous generation of Tiles, and decided to try out this set figuring it was New and Improved. Alas, this "Tile Pro (2020) 4-pack" is hardly more useful. They are still limited by range, which is to say they're great for finding the remote control that slipped under the couch cushion or the key ring you accidentally dropped under the bed, but they won't do a thing for the wallet you unintentionally left at a restaurant (we've had opportunity to test this exact scenario, and we live in a small city of about a hundred thousand residents ... Tile was completely useless) or for any object basically outside the house. The price to locate my tv remote is entirely not worth it. I can save a hundred bucks and maybe try to be a bit less absent minded. Bear in mind that the "far away finder" function is 100% dependent upon other people having the Tile App loaded on their phones running at all times and then being within range of your Tile object. Maybe ... just maybe ... in a highly densely populated urban area like NYC or maybe downtown San Fran this could be feasible. But absolutely not anywhere in suburbia and especially not in even slightly remote areas. It's a solution looking for a problem, and they haven't figured it out yet.
