This tool is very low heat and works very well for styling my synthetic wigs.
Honestly...
I've had one of these for many, many years. The motor finally gave out. I was so happy to see that they're still making it. Your hair will not touch any metal. Using it close to the scalp will give you volume and then you can pull it through and turn it under or up a little if you like. This is not a hair dryer although it does blow air lightly through your hair. Slim handle makes it easy to hold on to. Very lightweight. I use it everyday to refresh my style. Sometimes I dampen my hair slightly just to get a better result. I considered buying other ones but they look so big and heavy. Love love love this styling tool. I don't understand why people get their hair tangled in it. It has a release button that will let the brush part spin freely so you can remove it easily. However I just pull it through and it works fine. Try it you'll like it.

I bought this to use on my synthetic wigs for when they aren't behaving themselves. This works so well. It doesn't damage the wigs that aren't heat resistant. It tames and polishes them. Works very well for this purpose.

This is a perfect, simple but very effective stying brush. I bought one probably 8 or 9 years ago under the name Vidal Sassoon. It is finally giving out and I could not find it again. All I can find is ones with very large or very small brushes... also, very expensive. Now, I find this one under the name Hot Tools and it looked so similar that I gave it a try. The price was right. Well, it is exactly the same. The material on the handle is a different color but everything else is the same and it works like a charm!!! I feel like I should buy 2 just in case I have trouble finding it again when this one wears out.

I bought a hot air curler just like this some years ago and loved it. When it became hard to find I bought 4 to keep in reserve, well, my last one just died. I couldn't find another anywhere till shuffling through Amazon and low and behold, there it was and sure looked like my old model. I gave it a try and YES, its the very same design. Thank you Amazon and you're right making it an Amazon Pick, it works better than any other out there and I'll definitely be ordering another 3 or 4. Please don't stop carrying it! P.S. I have short, fine, straight hair and it gives lift and curl.

I got this to replace my Vidal Sassoon hot air brush, received as a gift about 20 years ago. I had my fingers crossed, since although this one looked exactly the same, a few reviewers said it was not. Pretty much the same one, only better! The old detachable brush even fits on the new barrel. Despite slight differences in the style of the control, it seems to be the same styling brush and works equally well. If anything, the high setting gets a little hotter than the old one, which is an improvement. The detachable brush makes it easy to remove hair and wash off fossilized styling product. A note: unless you have fine, short hair, this has never been a tool that will dry it from a soaking wet state. Theoretically, you could, but it will take awhile. Its best use is on slightly damp hair, with or without styling product, and for this use, it is very good. Think "volumizing styling hot air brush" rather than "curling hair dryer." Very satisfied!

I have had increasing difficulty achieving body when using a hairdryer and a round brush and the hairdryer becomes just too heavy after a short time. I discovered that using this hot air brush made quick and easy work of styling after I wash my hair. It's lightweight and easy to handle. Of course, I use product and have learned to let my hair become almost dry before trying to style it. This is working great for me and I purchased a second one just to keep in my suitcase.

Purchased for my Mom who has short hair. She loves this hot air brush. She said it gives her all day volume and curl.

The one I'm replacing this with is many years old. What I didn't like about the old one is that when I turned it off, say to style my hair a bit, it wouldn't turn back on. I had to keep it on "low" if I wanted to style my hair while drying. Also, since it's older, it wasn't as reliable to work at all. So I bought another. This one can turn on and off while I'm styling, and that is the best thing now. I hope it keeps up. It is functioning well.

I didn't buy this for drying my hair. I wash my hair, then let it air dry for a bit, then use my regular hair dryer, but leave the ends of my hair slightly damp, then curl them and my bangs with this. Works great for me. I tried a different brand at 1.5 inch barrel, but it was too big for my shorter hair and didn't curl it as tightly (I have straight, fine hair and the curl at least stays in a slight flip after a little humidity).
