No oomph. None.

This was a huge disappointment for me. I have short fine hair. This dryer took almost ten minutes to dry my hair and by that time it had gone soft and straight. Even with salon products I've used successfully for years in my hair, the results were poor. The air just didn't have enough power. With hair like mine it needs to be dried hot and fast. This hot air brush was warm and lazy. I know that sounds silly but it's the best honest way to express my experience. With so many positive reviews, I suppose my advice would be to save your box and register your drier so if you have a similar experience, you have a warranty and the original packaging that Hot Tools informed me would be required to send a drier back to them in. Good Luck!

Destroyed itself by overheating -- HOT TOOLS Professional 1” Hot Air Styling Brush

This hot air styling brush has been my favorite all-time styler. It is perfect for my straight, fine hair; the brush is actually firm, plastic "bristles" with round tips and is key for moving through my hair. I have owned many over the years, made by different manufacturers but all exactly alike. Some lasted longer than others. Eventually, something inside the handle drops into the little fan and then immediately the tool fails to operate. In a nutshell, that's the problem with these styling hot air brushes. The one I ordered almost 1 year ago (4-17-2020) has met the fate I described. I'm pretty disgusted that $40 has literally burned up in almost a year. It's the only styling hot air brush with the plastic bristles I can find anywhere; very rare now.

Very disappointed with quality, over prices

This styling brush was exactly like the one I broke but different manufacturer. This brush is much lighter and does not have a non-slip grip coating like my broken one. Because I owned a styling brush exactly, except for the non-slip grip, like this one I can say this styling brush is over priced

BRING BACK! HOT TOOLS 1079 Hot Air Brush With Retractable Bristles, Black/Purple, 1 1/4 Inches

This new version of HT Hot Air Brush is absolutely awful. 1. No Heat/drying power 2. The bristle DO tangle in your hair 3. The RELEASE button does NOT 4. The ON/OFF and CURL RELEASE buttons are right on top of each. You will be constantly tangling your hair with the 'release' or powering off your unit. I ask Hot Tools --- why on earth did you mess with "HOT TOOLS 1079 Hot Air Brush With Retractable Bristles, Black/Purple, 1 1/4 Inches". I ask Hot Tools --- why did you mess with a great product "HOT TOOLS 1079 Hot Air Brush With Retractable Bristles, Black/Purple, 1 1/4 Inches" I ask Hot Tools --- who on earth is running your design area. Why did you change "HOT TOOLS 1079 Hot Air Brush With Retractable Bristles, Black/Purple, 1 1/4 Inches" I ask Hot Tools --- who on earth did you have be the test user. Had they ever used "HOT TOOLS 1079 Hot Air Brush With Retractable Bristles, Black/Purple, 1 1/4 Inches" Finally, I say to Hot Tools --- be like Coca Cola and go back to the original model!

For short hair only.

I can’t believe the positive reviews on this styler, it totally ruined my hair. Beware, this size must be intended for very short “pixie” length hair. My medium length hair totally tangled in the comb attachment which was impossible to remove, even after cutting off the combs. I finally cut off my hair and have and awkward short chunk of hair on the side of my head. Not good!
