This thing puts out about 10k btu's. When it is 30's-40's don't expect to feel heat 3' away, at best you will experience the lack of cold at that distance. When it is 50's or low 60's this will feel warm 3' away.
Hoping this helps
This is a nice little heater. I live in So Cal, and it never really gets too cold here. I got it for my patio, to put on a table for outdoor events. It was easy to set up, even I could do it. The package arrived un-mangled, and all parts were present. Ii read the directions, and though they were a little confusing because the pics were black and white, i figured it out in about 30 min total time from opening the box to starting the heater. I did have a little trouble starting the heater. When starting the heater, the knob is supposed to be turned to the pilot option, AND pushed in while the ignition button starts the fire. This gave me about 10 min of trouble as I've never turned one of these things on before. Now I am a pro and will be using this heater during the holidays. It does not take up too much space, and can be in the middle of a conversation without disrupting the conversation.

we wanted to have some heat in our 3 car garage. with one of 3 garage doors open, it gave decent heat around our chairs with gas tank in side heater on high heat lasted 2 hours. i then purchased the 10 foot hose so i can use a larger out door grill propane tank.i have not tried this out yet but it should work out fine.

I have no issues with the Fire Sense Table Top Patio Heater. The parts were complete. Assembly went well. Igniting was easy and the heat was more than adequate for an outdoor picnic table. I would recommend this heater to anyone with the need. My issue is with the packaging. It was housed in the biggest piece of styrofoam that is incredibly hard to discard. It is not recyclable and is so big it will not fit in the garbage unless you take a saw to it or break it up in smaller pieces that produce hundreds upon hundreds of BB sized balls that stick to everything in sight. In this new consumer environment there must be a better way.

I just got this product. It was about $100 so for the price it appears to be a pretty good value. Assembly was not overly difficult as some of the parts were already partially put together but no complaints. I gave it a test run last night and again this am. It worked pretty well again for $100. The gas door isa. Bit rough and requires caution. I will likely sand it down. The heat is throws off is not massive as it uses a small disposable propane tank. I bought an adapter for a larger tank and will try that as well but mostly pretty pleased and the product looks pretty darn nice as well.

I just finished installing this with my husband. It wasn't too complicated and it took us about 25 minutes total. It's actually bigger than I imagined (it looked almost handheld size to me in pictures). It's probably the size of a very thin 3 year old child wearing a large sun hat. lol I ordered a 4' hose adapter as other reviewers recommended so that I could use the 20 lb tank instead of the 1 lb. I had a little difficulty opening and closing the cover where the 1 lb tank goes. I think the heater's body was poorly designed in this aspect. Overall, I'm quite pleased with my purchase and haven't had any issues with it so far. I will update my review in the future if I start to have any problems with its functionability.

Once assembled it works great, at 55F outside at our small table on a MN screened porch, it warmed to 65F in 15min and after now 2 hrs still sustained 65F at table side even as our MN evening chilled to 51F. So this allowed us to enjoy a chilly evening (no wind night) outside when normally we would eat inside. Plus the warmth and glow of flame / hot screen make it a very pleasant heat. I also bought a 4ft braided metal LP extension hose to attach a 20 pound LP tank on the floor. My original small 1lb tank lasted only an hour, so I highly suggest getting the extension hose and 20lb tank. Pertaining to assy, there were 4 holes in the main units main tank housing that did not have threads to accept the 4 screws of the top assy. I used a sheet metal screw to create a few threads for the metal screws to screw into which worked great. I would very much recommend this heater to a friend and family.

I was a little worried at first since there's a lot of people on here complaining that it barely gives out anything. I live in Central Florida and figured I would give it a shot, you can always return it right. Well I'm happy to say it does give off quite a bit of heat. At least to the point where I can sit 3 feet from it in 50 degree weather with a t-shirt and shorts on. I bought this to use on my patio and it works great for that. My patio blocks most of the wind but this would be a problem if not. It also takes about 5 to 10 minutes to start getting really hot but is really conservative on gas with the larger tanks. It doesn't put off very much heat beyond a few feet but that's what the larger ones are for. The larger one just would not fit on my patio due too height.

Great heater! We purchased this product to add warmth to our underdeck patio so we can enjoy football and grilling later into the fall season. Product arrived on time and in good shape, securely packaged in styrofoam. Assembly was super easy using the included instructions (you only need a screwdriver plus the included wrench). We also purchased a 4-ft. adaptor hose to connect to a 20-lb. propane tank. The tank sits nicely below our patio table. If you have an opening in your table to fit an umbrella, you can route the hose through the hole. Based on one night's use, it puts out a decent amount of heat. Looking forward to spending more time with family and friends outside.

In spite of some reviewers complaints about assembly I found that easy to do. Probably took less than 15 minutes. I especially liked the fact that nearly all of the screws were already screwed into the various parts, so no trying to figure out which ones went where. True I did have to unscrew them, fit the pieces together and then put the screws back in but I still liked what they did. Between reviewers complaining about either not enough heat or going through the 1lb tanks too quickly, I was a bit confused... If the unit gave off more heat, wouldn't it go through a tank even faster? In any case I have an adapter hose so I just hooked it up to a 20lb tank. The unit has a convenient notch in the base for the hose to go through, so it will sit level on my patio table. If you do go this route I would suggest that when shutting down the heater you first shut off the gas at the tank and wait until the burner goes out before turning the heater's control knob to the off position. One thing that they could have done better with is the heat reflector on the top of the unit. The bottom of it is brushed (dull) metal. This cuts down on the amount of heat that is reflected outward. Measuring the top surface temperature versus a full sized outdoor heater shows a 40 to 50 degree (f) hotter surface on the table top unit. It would also be nice if the reflector was a bit larger. I think this would help the heat radiate out further. One modification that I did is replace one of the top posts with a threaded rod and some nuts so that I could angle the reflector to one side. This helps direct the heat when there's no one on the other side of the table. Update: 12/20/2017 Now that the weather is getting colder I started having issues with the pilot light going out when I let go of the gas control knob. I found out quite by accident that if I let go very s-l-o-w-l-y it is much more likely to stay lit and allow me to turn the gas all the way up without going out.
