I would not buy this again.

We had Jabra equipment where I worked and it was super. Because of that, I bought this Jabra blue-tooth in-car speaker phone. I can't hear the other side of the conversation unless I turn the volume up all the way -- and then the other people get an echo effect and have a hard time hearing me. Also, it is tinny (as if there is no bass or mid-range at all). I have a blue-tooth Motorola device that is about 10 years old; I wanted to replace it with a more modern speaker, to improve the experience. Instead, it is worse.

Very poor sound quality

I purchased an earlier version of the Jabra car phone speaker at Costco and was very pleased with it in all respects. After several years of regular use, the battery (which couldn't be replaced) died. I bought this Jabra Drive expecting the same sound quality as in the company's earlier product. However, I was very disappointed from the start. While people on the other end of the line said they could hear me fine, the sound on my end of every call was muddy and unclear. At first, I hoped the problem was only when my callers were on their mobile phones. But no, I found that every call was not clear, regardless of who was speaking or what device they were using. I returned the car phone and will now shop for a different one.

Poor performance

The single biggest gripe I have is with connectivity, and I don't mean initial pairing. It pairs fine. I'm referring to the multiple,, daily connections that are needed as you get into the car. This model is very, very poor in this regard. How poor? To save battery, after a certain amount of time after geting out of the car, the unit "sleeps" in standby mode, and this, I believe, is the root of the problem. Once in standby, when you get back into your car, it will NOT connect automatically. Instead, according to the instructions, you have to "tap the answer/end" button. This is absurd. What this basically means is that every time you get in the car, you have to either remember to hit that answer/end button before driving off, or do so clumsily and quickly while driving once/if a call comes in or you want to place a call. Could that be any more antithetical to the way it should work? It should connect automatically. I called Jabra tech support and explained this problem, and they were aware of it but basically said this is the way the model was designed. I also have a Jabra Tour, the next model up in their line-up. Now *this* model works as intended. Every single time I get in the car, an audible "Connected!" message is made by the unit so you know your phone is connected to the unit and ready to use. Also, the Tour's speaker is louder and clearer than the Drive's. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra roughly $20 for the Tour. You'll save yourself 10X that amount in grief and cursing. Trust me. Been there, done that. I returned the Drive and bought another Tour.
