The piece that holds the band on broke off 4 days after the warranty ran out. Went on a Fitbit chat room to find 100’s of people with the same problem. The company refused to stand behind their product and offered no solution to the problem.

Unfortunately I got the fitbit rash, even when rinsing my band daily and wearing it very loosely. No matter how cool the watch may be, it’s not worth this mess :(

Simply couldn’t get it working. Couldn’t get it past power on screen. Charged it fully. Connected it. Disconnected it. Reconnected. Charged it again, let the charge drain. Started over. Searched for online troubleshooting. Simply never worked. Online reviews suggested it was a dud. Wouldn’t have even worked as a paperweight. Thankfully target took it back. Was a Christmas present from my husband. Band was a new and attractive design, but I needed an activity tracker, not a bracelet. Would have been my 4th or 5th Fitbit. Returned it and ordered a new charge to replace the old charge instead. At least I know it has more than a 50/50 chance of working.

Please, please, do your research on FitBit before purchasing this. We purchased for my college daughter for her birthday gift. She is a high level performing musician at a music conservatory. Within 48 HOURS of wearing this, she was in extreme pain during the night with numbness, tingling and shocking pain in her wrist and 3 fingers. Immediately switching it to the other wrist, we thought maybe it was too tight…. As her pain started to subside a tiny bit, within 12 hours, she was feeling twinges start on the other hand and it was NOT tight AT ALL…. We took off the band completely and it was considerably better the next day, proving that it was 100% the cause. However, still 4 days after, she is experiencing some mild after effects - pain that has affected her career and job. We returned and will be seeking legal help if needed. Please, if your arm or wrists are vital to your career, please read on FitBits own website some of the precautions and read reviews, lots of them…. I would give this 0 stars if I could because this should be illegal or at least have a serious warning on the packaging.

Dead a few weeks after warranty expired. The Fitbit forums show it’s a trend for the Charge 5 and Fitbit is taking no actions to fix the issue.

Malfunctioned. Screen died after a year along with not keeping a charge. Suspected updates led to the device malfunctioning. Warranty was not there when needed, only an offer to buy a new device at 35% off, which I wouldn't risk the money for it to happen again. I switched back to my 10yr old Pebble watch. I would highly recommend that brand even though discontinued.

Despite the fact that the Charge5 is supposed to be immersible, it is NOT. Not even to 1’ for approximately 2 minutes. When I reached out for help, I found that FitBit doesn’t honor warranties, even when their product fails. Buy a different fitness tracker, this one is super disappointing.

Great product until the battery died and no longer holds a charge after 1 year of use. Fitbit will not replace the battery or product after 1 year. They just give you a 35% off coupon to buy a new one.

I loved the watch. It died within a few months and was a hassle to get warranty replacement. Note I was very mindful and took good care of it. Now the warranty replacement has died just out of original one year period. Junk, what a waste of resources and $. I loved the functionality and size but if it doesn’t last it’s useless.
