I got these for hunting. I live in VA, so not extreme temps by any means, I am just not a tough guy when it comes to cold weather and my feet get cold easily. I used these with a thin pair of first layer socks and 1200 gram thinsulate boots. Sitting in a blind for 3-4 hours (at 30 degrees with winds 10-20mph), they still got pretty cold. I would say that is normal, as you can't expect a sock to do much more than that for that period of time sitting. They worked well inside the house just to keep the feet warm, but they are SLICK. Be careful if you use them as such.

I love these socks. They really do keep your feet warm & are so soft. I highly recommend them.

It is cold here and as farmers, we work outside. My husband wore these socks five days running. They have been washed since. Couldn't find these again locally.

They seem thick socks; But I still wore out the heals. Maybe it's just me.

I have purchased these socks before. They are not pure wool, but they do keep the feet warm. I often spend a good amount of time outside for work throughout the year, I also use these on my motorcycle for my daily commute. I ride all year long, and when the temperature drops, these socks keep my feet warm enough. If you want high breathability and warmth try to find some 100% wool socks. I have uniform regulations at work however, and there aren't many 100% wool socks that are all black. So, I use these. As I mentioned they do the trick, and the price is nothing to complain about considering. I should mention that I wear these inside of boots with no problem, they are soft as well. They feel furry on the inside but the outside feels like a normal sock does.

Only way to keep a duck hunters feet warm. They are great until you toss them in the wash/dry. After wash/dry they lose heat holding ability. Buy 2 pair a year and just keep them with your waders. Never had a hunting buddie or hunting dog tell me my socks smell.

Used inside as slippers after foot surgery. Excellent comfort. Not for athletic shoes. Better for winter boots. Develops holes. Repair with Dental Floss strips.
