Warm and compact

Got this for some fair weather backpacking. I always used a mummy sleeping bag but never zipped it because my legs always felt constricted, so I thought I would give quilts a try. Bought this from Hiker Hunger (who’s customer service is OUTSTANDING) and it’s warm, packs small and very light, also love the snaps and finger loops to wear it around the campfire (not too close though!). It’s slightly bigger than other quilts so that is nice for coverage.

Good all around blanket value!

I have to say first that I have only used this blanket so far on my couch down to about 60 degrees! That being said, here is my review...so far; The blanket itself weighs in right at 19 oz, and is made with 20D fabric, which should stand up to a lot of wear and tear. The first thing I noticed was the "handle" at the bottom of the stuff sack to make it easier to pull the blanket out (or to pull the stuff sack and blanket out if your pack). Most stuff sacks have this, but some do not, and I like it.. Pulling out the blanket, the 20D fabric is soft and not stiff. I am 5'8" tall. If I wrap the blanket around my shoulders it doesn't drag on the floor, but does give my torso, hips and thighs good coverage. There is an unobtrusive strap on one side of the blanket with loops sewn at the same side corners. This makes wearing the blanket as a shawl-type set-up very simple and effective...pu it around your shoulders, snap the strap into place to keep it around your neck then slipp a finger or two through the loop at each of the two corners to adjust how open or closed you want the blanket to be. In the package was a warranty card - there is a 3 year warranty if registered, washing instructions (hand wash warm, hang dry), and a card offering a free repair kit with an OCR symbol to take you right to the place to order it (no extra shipping charge). The blanket is comfortable and warm when worn as a shawl or big enough for two if lain across laps, legs and torso. IF you could find straps that could attach like alligator clips (only not metal ones...that could rip the fabric eventually) you could set the blanket up as a makeshift quilt-type sleeping set up, but the foot box would be open...which would be fine for weather in the 50's and possibly lower. Overall, and so far, this blanket at the 70 dollar price point is a great value with well thought out additions that I can't wait to take with me on my next backpacking trip! What I don't know is the water repellents of the fabric or how the fill mix handles dampness or retains warmth when wet, so I will be trying to keep mine dry. Maybe switching out the stuff sack for a dyneema one to that end.

Best bang for your buck

The best price for the same length and strength of everything out there. Field tested for many trips so far and still going strong. Highly recommended.

Right fit

I really got these straps to replace the straps that connect my hammock to a tree strap. These should also mean that my hammock will be able to go between trees a little farther apart. They fit very nicely in my hammock bag with the hammock and two other tree straps. I have not had a chance to put it up and try it yet, but I hope to this weekend.

Great replacement

Lost the original straps at a Dead & Company show. I blame the mushrooms. Picked these babies up for little and dare I say, better than the OG straps. Thanks HHO (do they call you that? Got stickers?)

Great quality straps. Stitching and material look 👍

Carry bag is great. I like how long they are. I trust these are going to last many trips
