Watch IS able to update

I am unsure why people say you can't update it.You can absolutely update it to the most current software and the watch works perfect. There's really nothing negative about this watch. It's extremely lightweight and essentially the Fenix 5. I personally think the trade-off to the Fenix 5 with a metal case isn't worth the added weight. This watch is also essentially the forerunner 945, absolutely not worth the extra several hundred dollars for the tint additional features in map tracking.I run about 50 miles a week and the GPS does drain the battery the fastest. I usually make it about 5-6 days before it needs to be charged. Charging is extremely quick(faster than any other smartwatch I've had). Takes about 1 1/2 from dead to full battery.I would absolutely reccomend for the runner/cyclist/swimmer or any combination of those.

Has all the sports I love including lap swimming and open water swimming.

This was a major upgrade from my Garmin Forerunner 235. I have owned a Garmin swim, Foerunner 15 and 35. Those were great in their day, but I couldn't bring myself to spending $$$$ for the top Garmin Tri watch. When the 935 came down in price because of the newer 945, I bought it. I am very happy I did. It was the exact watch I wanted, a Garmin, Swim and 235 and more rolled into one watch. I use it daily for swimming, biking, running, kayaking, hiking, etc. Your gym is just outside. It even offers some coaching.

Works great and glad I bought it.

I usually stick to Garmin and this one was a good purchase. After 4 months it is still working great. It's very light so it doesn't bother me when sleeping. The HR tracking worked very good without a chest strap and only using the watch to calculate the HR. Tracks steps great but there has been a few occasions it stopped tracking steps and just turning it off and back on solved it. I run, bike, and swim and no problems with it so far.

Spot-on data tracking and consistency.

This is my third or fourth Garmin multisport watch over the last decade-plus. Every iteration gets better. I have Garmin Vector 2 pedals on one bike and Vector 3 on another. Calibration and pairing is seamless as is power-metering. Distance tracking via satellite is spot on and consistent every time without fail (runs and rides). Swim split tracking is perfect. No complaints thus far.Configurations for multiple activity-tracking screens is easier to customize than previous, similar Garmin watches. As a bonus, there are countless watch faces from which to select and manage, all via the Garmin Connect app. This is why Garmin is the best. I’ll never buy any other product but theirs.

A great watch. Glad I got it, even if it’s old.(but new)

Just got this. Brand new out of the box. So far, it has been on my wrist for 13 hours and has used 4% of the battery. I have a Samsung Galaxy Watch, the S3 frontier and my experience was the battery is terrible. In fact it’s unreliable. Sometimes it will use 85 % in 12 hours and sometimes it will use 60% in 12 hours. It never uses less than that, unless it’s on power saving mode. It does have an Amoled screen, so it is prettier than the Garmin, but the text on the Garmin is actually crisper on the Notifications. Suffice to say, the Garmin is a Fitness tracker with smart watch functions, while the Samsung is a smart watch with a few fitness functions.

My Perfect Running Watch

I bought this in 2018, and I have never had a problem with it. I use it on long runs and have run a marathon with it. I also use the Garmin Connect software to record and review my workouts. They provide incredible detail, even cadence and elevation. Typically, I set it to charge about weekly. Some people have commented that the watch is large. I am a man of about 220 pounds (100 kilograms), so I did not notice, but this could be an issue for some people. Keep in mind, I had a Timex watch back around 2010, when GPS watches were just coming to the market. The Forerunner 935 seems compact in comparison to the ones from those early days.

... 5 Sapphire edition when it first came out and love the device

I had the Garmin Fenix 5 Sapphire edition when it first came out and love the device. Unfortunately, being a full-time nursing student meant having to scrounge for some cash, which ultimately meant selling my Fenix 5. School has eased up just enough for me to pull more hours at work and I was able to get this gem. I was hesitant about the plastic casing, but the device feels very durable while still being light. All the tracking features are working perfectly, which is something even my Fenix 5 couldn't boast. The GPS also acquires a signal much more quickly, so another pro there. The screen is crisp and clear in all lighting situations I have encountered. Wrist HR is as accurate as any of them, which is no fault of the device, so it is kinda accurate most of the time. Syncing even seems fast with this device compared to the Fenix 5, but I also got a new phone, so that may have something to do with it. When I have the money again, I will likely buy the next Fenix, but this is a solid device that I am happy with. I don't know how it will hold up long-term, but I will update if it starts falling apart. Would recommend.
