I like this style of buckle much better than those with ...

This is my second belt from this seller. I like this style of buckle much better than those with the small thumb lever used to release the ratchet. However, I was not very happy when the belt's color bled onto my white shirt after being submitted to Dallas humidity and heat; I hate it when $30 dollar belt ruins a $100 shirt! ***Update*** After reading my review, the seller of this belt credited my account for the cost of the belt and credited my account another amount to cover the laundering of the shirt discussed in the review. This was all done without any contact with me or from me. I have to say this was a stand-up move on the business' part, and has made an impression on me. Only after the credit to my account was complete was I contacted by a representative of the company, Eddie. The steps taken, and the time to address the issue to ensure satisfaction is admirable and will drive me to purchase from them again. I recommend this business based on their response to this particular issue.

I love both belts

Received the product a few days ago and its truly impressive for the price. I have been using ratchet belts since 2012 and it has mostly been SlideBelts which cost about $45 these days (a bit pricy for a belt). Came across these belts and thought to give it a try. The buckle ratchet system works exactly as slidebelts but slidebelts for some awkward reason are a bit louder. I love both belts. But for the price Maino belts are clearly a better option. The only thing is that Slidebelts have lasted me for quite some time and I have yet to see how Marino belts fare in terms of durability. Just a side note: I had a slight issue with my purchase and they sent me a brand new belt as a replacement, with an expedited shipment. Very pleased.

For the price the quality CANNOT be beat

For the price this CANNOT be beat. The leather has that ever so slightly plastic look to it but is VERY durable. The buckle mechanism is very sleek in appearance and extremely high quality. Just like anything if you don’t take care of it or ratchet WAY too tight repeatedly for months I could see how it could wear out in a year or so. I got the charcoal depiction - tan for in person color reference. The guides on the back for cutting are very helpful but I HIGHLY recommended whatever pants size you wear (for men) then trim 2-3 above that first. Great product and I’ll definitely buying one in another color

Don't think twice...

I hate how some of the reviews make you think twice, three times, ten times about whether to buy or not. With this belt, there should be no reason to think twice. Material is durable (I tried bending, twisting, everything I could to get the leather to crack and it didn't), and feels high quality. The look is professional (I work in the finance industry, and feel very comfortable wearing this), and the buckle does not stick out too far (one of my initial concerns). I will be going back to buy more of these in different colors and styles.

Really nice belt

I have the Black Design Leather Buckle With Black Leather. This is my 3rd ratchet belt, and my first Marino. The first ratchet belt was sturdy to the point of distraction - it was heavy, and will probably be in great shape 25 years from now. Fantastic belt. But HEAVY. My second is pretty light weight, and I like it, too. It's great for shorts and everyday wear. This Marino belt is not light, but not too heavy. It's solid, I like it a lot. I'm a bigger guy and it suites me well. It's a little dressy-er than my lightweight belt. A small thing that's really nice - the belt has lines on the back of where to cut it if you want to cut it down to a smaller size. I think these straps come in two standard lengths. So cutting it down is needed if you have too much strap flapping at your side after you get it adjusted. For example there's a printed line with the waist size number to help cut the strap down to 48 inches for example. I used ordinary house scissors. I do not recall that I summoned up super human strength to cut it. So yeah, really nice belt.

Cut the belt a size above what you normally wear.

This belt is very good for the price. The mechanism is easy to use and very unobtrusive, making it very comfortable to wear all day long. The great thing about this belt like all ratcheting belts is that it is much easier to adjust to the perfect snugness than standard hole and pin belts and you don't have the problem of the hole getting wallowed out over time. The only thing is there are about two inches of leather before the ratcheting track starts on the underside making the belt overhang very long depending on your waist size. This belt is made so that you can cut the end attached to the buckle to size so that it will fit perfectly without all the overhang. I wear a size 40 and I cut mine on the inch line just above the size I wear to be cautious and im glad I did because now my belt barely fits! Be advised that the sizes on this belt may not be exact so be very conservative when cutting. Also, the metal hinge that holds the cut end of the belt won't come loose with finger strength because there are metal teeth that actually puncture into the leather so I used my knife to open it but I would probably recommend using a screwdriver. Overall a really good product and I'm thinking about buying another one in a different color!

Great Belt and Great Customer Service

In 2019 I purchased 2 Marino Avenue belts. One brown and one black. The ratchet design is a great improvement over the traditional through hole leather belts that quickly gets a stretched out ragged look. Plus you get a much more precise fit because of the small step increments. They looked great and were manufactured with quality materials and detailed workmanship. I use them several times a week. They look nearly new after nearly 2 years of use. The buckles have a hard finish that resists scrapes and scratches, significantly better than another manufacturer of a similar "ratcheting" type belt. Unfortunately the black belt recently developed a crack across the width of the belt. After contacting Marino and providing them a photo of the defect and receipt of purchase, they sent me out a replacement. Now that's customer service!

Looked Promising! Best Customer Service Ever!

I was pretty excited excited about receiving this new type of belt. It looks great! Seemed very good quality. The thing is it keeps ripping the belt where the teeth bite into the belt. Thus it comes undone. I have purchased two belts of this type and it has happened several times to each belt. I like the idea .....it just does not work. I would not recomend this type of belt until they can make it actually work. Ok I stand by my review of the belt. It must have been a defective one. The customer service of this company is amazing. They are in the process of sending me another belt. They have sent me several emails wanting to make things right. Great customer service. You can buy from this company they stand behind their product! Thank you Rose! Added 2 more stars for the customer service. Still not convinced that the ratchet belt will replace the buckle belt!

The ratchet belt is the best belt money can buy.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the ratchet belt! If you just need a good belt, stop reading the review and buy this one. If you want to learn more about ratchet belts and the LINXX buckle, read on! Well, the first thing to know about ratchet belts is that many companies sell them. You should be calling your belt a ratchet belt, not a LINXX belt. There are a LOT of belts to choose from, so you probably now have two big questions: "Who makes the genuine original ratchet belt?" "Who makes the best quality ratchet belt?" Well, I've done some research, and the answer to both questions is.... it doesn't matter! Many companies claim to be the originator of this belt design, including Comfort Click (and as seen on TV product) and Mission belt. The oldest ratchet belt company I could find is called Nexbelt, and they claim to have "found the design in asia". In essence, nobody owns the ratchet belt design, and everyone has equal claim to making a "genuine, high quality" ratchet belt. This wild west of authenticity has many benefits. A ratchet belt buckle from Mio Marino will be compatible with a belt loop from any other company. I had to replace my belt loop due to an unfortunate incident, but instead of purchasing a new $20 belt, I simply purchased a new $10 belt loop from Chaoren. The only thing to look out for is that there are two standardized loop widths: 1 1/8 inch and 1 3/8 inch. My belt works only with 1 and 1/8 inch replacement loops. So, now that you know you can buy a ratchet belt from just about anywhere, why buy one from Mio Marino? Well, first of all, there are two different kinds of buckle mechanisms. Traditionally, ratchet belt buckles have a small lever that you rotate to release the belt loop. LINXX belt buckles are special in that the entire face of the buckle lifts up to release the loop. This removes the need for an unsightly extra lever and makes the whole thing easier to use. Mio Marino did not invent the LINXX buckle design, but they unfortunately did patent the name. There is no standardized naming system for ratchet belt buckle shapes. LINXX buckles are completely compatible with "traditional" ratchet belt loops, so just find the design you like the most. A side note on the keychain: Mio Marino belts used to come with a leather keychain. Some models of the belt still do come with it; this model does not any more. In my experience, the marketing photographs provided by the company best depict what comes in the box; you should refer to that. A side note on environmental impact: Are you in need of a stylish way to store your belt when not wearing it? Consider flipping the lid of the gift box upside down and coiling the belt inside! Sadly, there were large foam blocks glued to the bottom half of the "gift box", making it difficult to reuse or recycle. This may have been improved in the years since I bought my belt, though.

Durable, Good Looking, Quality Belt

I’ve always looked into getting a ratcheting belt and I will NEVER go back to a regular belt anymore. I’ve had this belt for about 6 months now and the durability has held up remarkably with no scratches, folds, leather peel, nothing. Most of the other belts I’ve owned crease heavily where I buckled the belt or never fit quite right. The ratcheting technology makes for a perfect fit everytime. So days I feel bloated or skinnier with perfect! Set up was easy. I personally went up a couple inches to cut knowing it gives me room. I saw some reviews state it was difficult to cut but I found it quite simple with a sharp pair of scissors to cut through the belt. To put the buckle on it can be a bit tough to get the teeth through but I used the edge of a countertop as leverage to push them through with ease. Definitely recommend this belt for its great craftsmanship, durability, and overall look!
