This is a revolution in for belt wearers everywhere. I was worried this belt might slip during the day when I crouch or climb, but that has not happened, not even once. It gives the user way more sizing options as there are probably about 4 to 6 different sizes that can be chosen between the size holes found on a standard belt. With a standard belt, I have found myself wanting to tighten the belt a tad more, but the next size up in a standard belt if typically too much. This belt resolves that issue. Plus, if a user loses some weight and they require a smaller belt, they can disconnect the buckle, cut off a section of the belt with the pre-drawn sizing measurements found on the inside of the belt, then reconnect the buckle. A standard belt would require drilling more holes in the belt, eventually having the belt wrap around the user's hip and around their backside, forcing the user to deal with the excess belt wrapping around them or purchasing a new belt.

I recently bought this belt and one from a competitor (see: EazyBelt 2.0 Manhattan Gun Metal - Black/Large ) as I was looking for an adjustable belt that I could count on to replace traditional belts that just weren't quite fitting for me. I liked that belt but wished that it was just a little less wide so it would more easily fit through belt loops. That is not at all a problem for this particular belt as it seems to be just the right width to do the job while leaving some room within the belt loops. Having tried both belts, I think I'd prefer this Marino Men's belt if I were to order more. For now I'm looking at both the EazyBelt and this Marino Men's belt as options that some other individuals should be able to pick from when it is time for thinking about father's day gifts. 5 solid stars for this. It was easy to cut down to the size I wanted, is easy to get to just the right size when you go to hook it, and is easy to unlatch when necessary. It looks nice as well, and is available with plenty of nice options to match just about anything you'd need to match colors with.

I purchased this product as a replacement for the same one which I have purchased years ago. The price, compared to the number of years I had been using it, makes this a very cost-effective product. For best results, I would suggest that when you cut the belt, give it an extra inch compared to your waist line. Nothing negative about that, it just gives you more flexibility in using it. The measurement guide printed at the back of the belt makes the resizing a very easy job.

As a "bigger" guy, belts always wear out and get stretched due to the limited holes and the spacing between them. None of the videos about these ratchet belts talk about what they are like for a big guy, but if they did these things would be out of stock everywhere. The belt is made great, looks and feels great, and most importantly, FITS AMAZINGLY GREAT. Yes - a true fit no matter what your size. I ordered the largest size and cut it down (it's easy to cut, there are markings, and the "buckle" part connects to the cut end) and from the first moment I put it on I was hooked. As long as the belt holds up over time I'll never go back to the never-fitting type with holes every inch. I have a perfect fit with no extra and it helps your shirt stay tucked in as a bonus. I'm not going to say my size (I'm working on it), but lets just say that it wouldn't be out of place for Richard Simmons to visit me to jump-start a healthier lifestyle.

Needed a replacement after the leather belt I had been using for the last decade wore out and I'm so happy that I went with this one. It comes too long, but you can trim it to the right length with regular scissors - just be sure not to trim it too short. The ratcheting action is smooth and the moving parts don't have play. The color matches the image really well and it looks snappy. Can't go wrong for less than $20.

I bought 1 belt from this company and used it for a while, It kept having to be cut off shorter about every three months as the buckle would loosed where it is attached to the leather. They fully credited my account for the belt. That was not my intent but only to let them know about possibilities to make it better, they insisted on the refund. I have purchased a replacement and another dress belt as I like the ratchet design and it seems to work very well. I will continue to purchase from them as they deliver a quality product with quality service. They are interested in the customer and it shows. I wish you could just buy replacement leather straps to replace the belt material but at this point it is only offered with another buckle....oh well, very small flaw. Love their product.

As my father has aged he's lost weight and his belts just aren't holding up his pants anymore. My sister bought him some suspenders, but he didn't like them. Then my sons recommended ratchet belts which they both love. I was skeptical because my dad is 88 and doesn't really take change well, but once the belt was fitted he was very pleased. He likes the belt itself saying the material is finer quality than he expected for the price, and it's easy to use once someone showed him how to use it. I'll likely buy more of these belts around the holidays, and I do recommend them to anyone who has weight shifts and a difficult time with fine motor skills.

I'm one of those in between guys and have never had a belt that fits right. Plus my weight fluctuates and I find myself needing a larger or smaller size. This belt is a miracle to me! I can carefully trim the length so even at my largest, it will still have plenty of room. Now you've got those ratchets that are really close together and can adjust the fit to exactly what you want. No more having a waistline that's right between two holes on the belt. I hate having a tight belt; so uncomfortable! Not anymore. I was a little worried about the ratchets becoming worn and the buckle not holding it tight. Hasn't happened. Nothing looks worn. It works great. I have three of these belts now in different colors and different buckle designs. The price was very reasonable, I'm comfortable, and none of them have broken. I imagine they'll wear out someday, but when they do, I'm definitely buying these again.

I have now used my belt daily for almost 5 months, and am updating my review (see original review below). I've really tested the durability, even took a nasty spill into a creek traipsing in the Boston Mountains (NW Arkansas). There are no visible signs of wear in the leather, the stitching, the insert, or the ratchet hooks - none anywhere that I can see. I do notice a very slight "give" where the buckle bites into the belt, but the teeth are still holding. And the ratchet always works flawlessly. Every "traditional" belt I've owned was worn out by now, so I'm absolutely thrilled with the way this one has held up. I wish I could add a couple more stars for durability, but my review was already maxed out at 5. The key clip did fall apart after using for just a couple days. But I didn't buy the belt for the key clip!! So after almost half a year of daily use, I still love my Marino ratchet belt. In fact, I just ordered a brown one.. ********************************************************************************************************************************************************** I'm an older guy with a pretty decent sized "gut" (my waist size is 44"). For the last few years, I've had problems with the traditional belts. They would tear and stretch at the holes, so I couldn't get them tight enough to do the job. In my attempts to keep my slacks up, I had to choose whether to constantly hold my britches at the waist or wear suspenders, and I didn't like either option. So I decided to give one of the ratchet belts a try. I did a little research on the "Comfort Click" belt (the one advertised on TV), but reviews seemed to indicate an overall poor quality. I also looked at the Mission belt, but it was out of my price range. Then I noticed the Marino. It got generally better customer reviews than the Mission belt, but is less expensive. I purchased the larger size, since I'm toward the upper range of the regular size. I just got my belt yesterday, but so far, have a definite 5 star opinion. It looks very stylish, and was easy to put together. I decided to cut mine a few inches longer than necessary. A few of the reviews said that there can be a problem of the belt tearing out at the cut end. If this does happen, I've got enough belt to cut and re-attach a few times. And in the meantime, I don't mind having a little extra "leader". With the ratchet, I can tighten the belt sufficiently so there is no risk of my pants sliding down. I also like the included key clip. It doesn't look to be the same quality as the belt itself, but is hardly even noticed. I don't let the keys dangle loose though. I put them on the key clip, but tuck them into my pocket. That way, they are out of sight, but I don't need to fish them out of the bottom of my pocket, especially convenient if I'm wearing tight jeans. I know that there can be a "honeymoon period" with any product, and I'm still in it with this belt. If I start to see any issues with this product, I will revise this review accordingly.

Absolutely love this belt! Getting it trimmed to the right size & attached to the buckle was very easy. The "teeth" on the buckle hold it in place very securely (sounds like this used to not be the case but this one is definitely not going anywhere!) The ratchet mechanism is very secure and yet still easy to take back off by lifting the latch. The buckle was darker than I realized, I thought it'd be more of a chrome color but turned out to be sort of a flat black instead. The Marino team was very helpful in getting it switched out and went to great lengths to be sure I was happy with it. I'll absolutely be ordering a black version to complete my wardrobe!
