I was a little worried with some of the reviews saying that the belt frayed or was coming apart in some way. I have been wearing this belt almost every day now for almost a year. It is the best belt I have ever owned. The thing still looks new. The belts I have bought that have normal holes, I go through those like a fat kid loves cake. They don't usually make it more than 6 months before the holes are so ripped up that it isn't usable anymore. They get deformed, and look like they were literally chewed up. Apparently I am hard on belts. So for this one to still look like new is pretty much a miracle. It has also been extremely nice for my slowly growing waist line. I know I am getting bigger, but it is nice that this belt just rolls with it. Pun intended. There is no point where you have to make the choice to try to use that old hole again or face the music and make a new one. It doesn't judge you like that. It just slides on and works where you need it to. Seriously. Get this belt.

I had a problem with fit. When I put the review on-line with my problem, the company contacted me and fixed it. It was not a problem with the belt, it was a problem of my own making! This Marino belt buckle mechanism works easily and smoothly. I love how it gives me about four intermediate adjustments between what would have been the two holes in my old belts. I also purchased a competitors belt with a similar ratchet mechanism. That was a mistake. The competitor mechanism had a hard-to-work release lever below the buckle. When taking it off, or loosening it, I found myself struggling to find the lever, then getting it to release. The Marino belt has no such problem, which is why I'm giving it five stars. Also five stars for customer service. If I lose weight, I can cut down the length. If I gain (a lot!) of weight, (which I don't intend to do) I will buy another one. It's that good. Thanks Marino!

I have loved using this belt over the past years. I used to have to buy a new belt with static holes every year, as they wore out fast. I might never need to replace this belt. You just cut the leather where you want the size to be, and lock the leather into the buckle. The leather is still fine. The ratchets all still have their grooves. The metal on the bucket still looks great. It might take you a couple of more seconds in the bathroom to get this belt closed, because of the bigger buckle and needing to get into one of the grooves. It is great having a belt that can have so many adjustable levels for your pants type and if you tuck a shirt in or not. It always fits perfectly. Would highly suggest getting one, if you have not tried a ratchet belt before.

Very easy to trim the belt to the correct size. Nice quality and heavy good looking buckle. I like being able to make small adjustments with the ratchet system as opposed to a regular belt with holes as adjustments. Update: I love this belt! I have been wearing it daily for two weeks and I must say that it has me spoiled. I will never go back to the "old" style belts. Thanks Another update 5-15-19: Just received my second belt (this one is brown). I really love this belt! It is especially nice since I have been on the Keto diet and have lost 40 pounds as it is easy to adjust the length. Also since it has no belt holes, it has no wear marks on the front. I recommend this belt to anyone and everyone. Great product! By the way, I was not compensated for my fair and honest review.

I was pleasantly surprised when the belt arrived. It was so immaculately packaged I didn't even know what it was until I opened the box, as I had ordered several things that week. When I opened the box I was confused because the clasp was not affixed to the strap, but I quickly discovered the clasp has a simple mechanism to secures it to the belt strap. I love that, because it means you can cut the belt down if you need to, and they have inch marks printed on the back to help with that if you need it. The ratchet strip on the inside of the belt is around 6 inches in length, so even if you reduce the length of the strap you'll have at least 4-5 inches to grow back into if you need to. As for the ratchet itself, I like it. I have never owned a ratcheted belt before. I always used traditional belts with buckles. I like the ratchet system better. Simply pull the belt tight and it stays in place. Lightly lift the ratchet to loosen or take it off. It is a LOT easier than a traditional belt, where you have to pull the belt tighter to take it off. You don't have to do that with this belt. You also have a better fit, since the ratcheting system has more "holes" per inch. If you are looking for a good belt get this. You won't be disappointed.

I am 33 years old and I haven't worn belts regularly for almost a decade. Sure I would find or borrow one when I had to attend a special event, but I had pretty much completely eliminated belts from my wardrobe. I only mention this because I am out of the loop when it comes to "new belt technology" so I have no idea if this is a pretty standard belt. Anyway, there are basic instructions that are easy to follow...cut the belt to the desired length and then feed the cut end in and snap it shut. What really impressed me though is how well the belt actually holds when you click it together. You can hear like a ratchet sound when you tighten it and that makes it easier to get it to the exact tightness you want on the fly (no pun intended). It releases just as easily as it goes on. I plan on buying a couple more of these to match different clothes I have.

SO I bought Slidebelts when they first came out. In 6 months I had the clasp thing go bad like 3 times. First time I took the time to get a replacement, by the second and third time I finally just said screw it and looked elsewhere for ratchet type belts as they were starting to come out en masse. Picked this one up about a year ago. As I just recently updated my wardrobe, decided to buy more. I will point out that in the year since buying the first belt from here (and cheaper too!), the clasp thing has NEVER given out on me. Belt still works as good as it did the first day. For that reason, I gave up on SlideBelts and will be buying from here in the future (I just picked up two more) Don't waste your time or money with Slidebelts, they're overpriced and their clasps will fail on you over and over again.

I had never heard of or owned a ratchet belt. I took a gamble and gave this one a try. I will never go back to a standard (non-ratchet) belt again. The biggest advantage of a ratchet belt is you can get the perfect adjustment with it. No more trying to decided which hole to use on a standard belt. (one hole is a little tight, next hole is a little loose). I followed the instructions for trimming the belt to the proper length, then pressed the spikes on the ratchet into place. I've had it only for 2 months, but after wearing it every day, I feel it is a high quality product. Nothing looks or feel cheap about it. If you're on the fence, and have never owned a ratchet belt before, go for it.

I bought two of these belts. One Black & one brown. they are both great belts with same mechanism. My black belt was made of a softer foam that made attaching the belt to the push down clamp was easier. My brown belt Looks like "Real" Italian Leather and is stitched all the was around its perimeter. The buckle was harder to attach because of it's thickness made it impossible to clamp down with my thumb. I was able to see the hole marks on the back of the belt from my attempts to close the latch so I used a sharp screw & hammer to punch holes on the back where I could see the attempts to clamp it. I will buy again. Thanks.

This is a wonderfully presented product with a great box, a nice little key chain and of course a very nice looking belt. I had purchased one of these belts previously and it was easy to use, looked great and has been far better than the other brands of ratcheting belts I have bought in the past at a really good price. This second purchase had a slight issue which was making the belt hard to use, the tip was slightly curved to one side, and so would not go through the buckle properly. I was considering a return when I got a followup email from the company asking how the purchase was, and I informed them of the issue I was having. They sent a replacement belt, and it works just as I remembered from my first, easy to use and solidly built. I am very happy with the replacement and have to say that this is a belt style I am hoping to buy for many years to come, and this is definitely my preferred brand. Have to love a company that stands behind their product and takes care of their consumers. I can would recommend these belt to anyone interested in a ratcheting style belt. They are the best I have come across and are a great value!
