The sound for these headphones was great, but these are uncomfortable. I started getting a headache because the headphones were tight and the cushion on the ears is bulky.

I got these headphones about a year ago. They sound okay (better than lower end headphones). The noise cancelling feature doesn't actually cancel much noise, when you flick it on it also boosts the volume slightly, to give you a better impression of noise cancelling. However it does cut out noise, unfortunately in places where there is lots of noise (like a bus) or outside in the wind, it will try to cut out noises that you wouldn't hear anyway, and cause a bit of noise in your music (luckily turning off noise cancelling is a good option). Also about 8 months in (with light use, not used daily), the ear-pads simply fell apart. The outside layer is a fragile vinyl that fell off. And the inner circle connection was not sturdy, causing the front and back of the pad to disconnect in that center circle. So now the pads' foam has expanded, leaving only a narrow hole in the center for sound. This of course ruins the sound and is uncomfortable to use. Replacement pads are difficult to find online, and I wouldn't want to replace them with the same pads since they were so weak, I'd like a higher quality pad option. Furthermore, the headband is not padded, it's hard plastic. If you have a bit of a pointed head like me, this is painful to use. Luckily a universal headband pad can be found cheap online, which mostly solves the issue. Overall, I can't give this a 1 star because frankly, the sound quality was fine, (they are not high end headphones, but they aren't budget sounding either, somewhere in the moddle, closer to the bottom). And the audio jack even withstood a 5 foot drop onto pavement that bent the connector , but it still worked perfectly. These headphones would be worth more with higher quality ear-pads.

Middling sound quality; very tinny without the noise cancelling on and even then they are very quiet. Doesn't seem to cancel out any noise anyways. Noise cancelling required a battery even though they are wired. Includes a headphone + microphone jack combiner plug which is nice. Will be returning them.

I purchased these at the airport a couple of weeks ago for a long international flight. They worked well on the outbound flight, but were nearly unusable on the return. Noise cancelling worked fine on the left side. But on the right, with noise cancelling on, the headphones actually increased the ambient noise. Awful.

The sound quality only becomes adequate if the noise cancellation is enabled. If you turn off noise cancelling or the battery dies, the passive sound quality falls off a cliff. With active noise cancelling on, sound is clear with heavy emphasis on mid-bass and treble. With noise cancelling turned off, treble is gone, bass is gone. The sound reverts to a muffled, flat echo.

I bought these because I read that Sony makes great noise-cancelling headphones. I thought that I'd be safe with the wired version. They are 4 times as expensive as the ones from a Japanese store that I use. And they are 4 times as poor. They flatten my ears and give me a headache. The sound cuts in and out. The quality is terrible. Cheap sound. I hope that I can exchange them where I bought them from today.

I didn?t buy these for noise canceling, I just wanted inexpensive headphones to use with my iPad when sitting in the same room as my wife as she watches tv. For the money, the sound is good but after using them less than a total of 5 hours the cushions are deteriorating and falling off in flakes.

I received these headphones as a gift. Without the noise cancelling feature turned on, they're pretty cr@p headphones. (Turned on however, they're pretty good headphones!) After a few months of continuous use, like other reviewers have said, the noise cancelling feature doesn't work anymore. I'll turn on the noise cancelling feature, it will work for about 5 minutes or less, and then cut out. Overall very disappointed.

Burns through batteries quickly and the sound quality without the battery power sucks.

Can't recommend this one - feel cheap, very uncomfortable after 10 minutes or so. So-so sound. You can do better for this price.
