I bought these headphones after getting sick of my earbuds being so uncomfortable on the plane. While these may not cancel out everything, they do a great job of canceling most of the noise. I spent two hours with a crying baby two rows ahead of me, and never heard it. Music was clear and even, but didn't pump out too much bass.

Work well for watching in-flight media. Amazing how much noise there is in a commercial flight and I can listen to a movie in comfort while not disturbing neighboring travelers.

the headphones are good for the price or seem to be I have only had them about a week or two now.... fit good on my head but do not cover my big ears fully and for noise reduction they do an average job..... hope they will last .... seem to be built with good qaulity .... the cord is not big but average size and the cord appears 4 feet long or so so its good size

Picked up yesterday. Good sound on normal music for the price. I have not had a chance to try the noise cancelling on a plane. Until then I cannot say I totally satisfied.

This is a very good option at a low price for reduced background noise. I use these for my cross country flights. They fold well to put in a small pouch. There is an ambient noise switch that actually helps reduce airplane/background noise. Be sure to turn off between use to prolong battery life. Used them for 6 cross-country (5+ hr) flights and battery is still green. These are noise reducing, not cancelling, which feels safer for staying aware of what is going on. Getting some for kid use too.

I bought these fairly recently, I’m not a fan of paying for overpriced electronics which is why I chose these. They work really well the sound is fantastic, as well as the noise canceling. I can’t hear anything while wearing them, which is great! But one complaint I have is that they don’t seem to fit as snug long-ways on my head. But I think that this is because I have a very narrow head. I would totally recommended this product.

Seem good so far! They fold up nicely so they are somewhat compact for travel and sound is good.

IF YOU CURL UP WITH YOUR LAPTOP OR TABLET, THESE PHONES ARE EXCEPTIONAL FOR THE PRICE. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR WIRELESS OR 100% COMPLETE NOISE REDUCTION- NOT FOR YOU. A PERFECT HOME ACCESSORY AND FILLS THE BILL WHEN OTHERS WATCHING TV OR HAVING A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN IN THE SAME ROOM. JUST KIDDING ABOUT A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, BUT THEN SO MANY OF THESE REVIEWS ARE DRAB AND UNINTERESTING.

Great sound (as long as they're powered on) I thought the on/off feature would only affect the noise cancellation on these headphones. Apparently, I had no idea how that was going to work if you try to use them without power. In the powered off state, they still work and play sound, but you lose almost all the definition in the bass and higher frequency sounds. This leaves you with just a muddy sounding mid-range which is not what you would expect from a Sony product. Turn them on however, and you are blessed with the most beautiful sounding clarity across the board in all frequencies at high and low volume levels. The noise cancellation is also not exactly what I expected, but does work exactly as described on the package. It reduces the background noise mainly on lower frequencies making it ideal to quiet outside engine noises from vehicles and airplanes. They even include an adapter for you to use them with many airlines in-flight entertainment systems.

You have to switch on the noise canceling feature to get the most out of these headphones which requires a AAA battery. It is included. I liked them much better with that feature but I can’t understand why it needs a battery and a switch - would prefer that sound quality as The standard quality of the headphones without the aid of a battery. I guess that’s modern technology. I can’t understand why someone would not want the enhanced sound unless they really don’t like bass. Not sure what’s the point in listening to muisc without bass. Other than that very clear sound.
