Installed as instructed. Display shows white screen, or distorted image 40% of time. The rest of the time it's nice and clear. One other thing, I thought this would be hard-wired to aux power, but it is a cigarette (12v) interface. This caused some additional work on my end since the 2002VW I installed it in had the 12v lighter ports on battery direct (always on).

Having the backup camera display on your rear-view mirror is the BEST place for it! New cars with back-up camera built in have the display down below the dash level. With this product, you can be looking in your rearview mirror and half of it shows the camera display and the other half is still your regular mirror.Overall, this product works pretty well. Image quality is good. Night vision was particularly useful so it works just as well in a dark garage. Occasionally (rarely), though, the image did not pop up on the display when it should. I have the wireless version, so I suspect that when the image did not come up, there may have been some strong radio interference nearby.Updating in April, 2024. The display has totally failed. It just shows blank white at all times (not just when car in in reverse). Five years of life is not bad for a product like this. I purchased a new one and only needed to install the new mirror with display to get the system back working again. No need to replace the camera and transmitter in the back, which is good because installing that in the back hatch of my minivan was a tedious job. It required completely removing the interior cover of the hatch!

Good quality hardware and great picture. Installed in short bed pickup truck. The wireless transmitter didn't have enough range to tuck behind the tailight so I had to make a jumper harness for the power/ground to get it into the cab. Ended up taking a half day to get everything routed correctly and sealed.I can see if this were for an SUV or car it would have been much quicker.

Installed on a Ford F150. Easy replacement for the stock mirror. Clear image at night, slightly dim in full daylight.
