This cup has been a life saver. I have menorrhagia. Before the cup, I wore a combination of always infinity pads and ultra tampons (the biggest you can buy) and still had multiple leaks into my clothes, making me afraid to leave the house and nighttime was a nightmare to manage. The cup holds so much and the measurement lines allowed me to keep an accurate journal for my doctor on just how much blood I was really loosing during an entire cycle. I can now shop and run errands with confidence that I won't leak or stink like blood. I only fill the cup halfway and have no leaks in between bathroom checks during the day. I still have to wear a heavy pad the first two nights because I bleed more than the cup can hold for an entire night, but no more waking up to puddles. I can't tell you how much this cup has saved me. Also a trick I learned from another blog, was to turn the cup inside out. I needed a big cup, but the Diva cup comes a little shy of sticking out and the ridges would rub and annoy me. So I turned it inside out and it fits perfectly and comfortably.

I've been concerned with all of the waste my family produces lately. We went from buying bottles water to drinking from the tap, using plastic grocery bags to using re-usable canvas bags, and from using pads and tampons to the DivaCup! This is only the second day I've used it, and I've already gotten the hang of it. On day one, I had no problem inserting it, but it seemed that it didn't have a complete suction, because it was leaking a *very* little bit. Considering that it was day one of shark week, and it only leaked *a little*, I was already really pleased. When I emptied and re-inserted it at right before bed on the first day, I noticed that I could finally twist it around in a complete circle easily, so I knew it was properly inserted. I went to sleep, and woke up 11 hours later (yeah... I get really tired while I'm menstruating), and I hadn't leaked a drop. Which was awesome, because pads and tampons *always* leak when I'm sleeping. I've always hated tampons, because they give me horrible cramps. And I've always hated pads, because I hate hate *hate* the feeling of blood on my vulva. I also hate the smell of period blood, and I'm way too sensitive for scented products, so in the past I've had to use too much body spray, or just avoid being about people as much as possible. And don't get me started on spending $10 - $20 a month on something that gets thrown away! The DivaCup takes care of all of those problems. No cramps like from tampons, to squishy feeling like pads, no smell, no months costs. I'm in love. It's very easy to clean, and after I trimmed the stem (I found that it was pretty much useless anyway, as I always grab the base of the cup to remove it), I can't even feel it. It's almost like I'm not on my period at all! I adore this product, I'm so glad I found it, and when my daughters (now ages 8 and 1) get their periods, I will be buying them the DivaCup also.

The best way to sum up my experience - I wish I'd bought this sooner!!!! I have 3 kids (the youngest is 1yr old) and the size 2 fits just fine. I thought I'd have a hard time figuring out placement and removal, but it was very easy and the instructions are good. I did trim the stem after the first use just b/c I didn't like being able to feel it. I saw other reviewers that said you could also turn it inside out. I looooove that this cup can be left in 12 hours. So I don't even mess with it at work. The concept may seem weird, but I actually find it less gross than tampons. And if I may overshare for a moment, I am super sensitive to smells and always got sicked out when changing tampons; this cup does not have that smell. I also love that I'm not allowing my body to soak up nasty chemicals for a few days every month, and I'm also not sending tampons to the landfill anymore. Of course I'm a worrier and I'm always concerned with leaks, so I've worn a pantiliner while I use this, and the most I've ever had on the liner is a tiny spot, something you wouldn't even notice on dark underwear. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you've been thinking about it, go ahead and do it!! So worth it!

I don't think there is a lot that I can say that has not already been said but I will add my voice to the choir. This thing is amazing. I have been using these for several years now. They pay for themselves within months depending on how heavy your flow is. It pretty much saves the environment while being incredibly awesome and working better than anything I have ever tried. I too was wondering if I should get the number 2 size when I was just barely 30 and had no kids. I went ahead and got the 2 size after reading the company web site and I do not think they led me astray at all. I was totally concerned about it too, like there might not be enough room there. Getting a super tampon in was challenging. But again, the sizing is right, they know what they are talking about. No longer do I have to wash my sheets repeatedly during the week! I do still need a panty liner at night and have to get up to change it on the first night but I get up anyhow and it is a vast improvement over what I was previously dealing with. I can wear whatever underwear I want to now. I do not have a single issue changing it in a public or work bathroom stall. I just use some tp when getting it out and I use some tp to blot the inside and rim before putting it back. Sure there are occasions where my fingers get dirtied but I am careful and I'm going to wash my hands as soon as I get out anyhow. Once I am past day 2, I can leave it in all work day.

I've been wanting to switch to a menstrual cup for a long time, and finally decided to do it. I used SoftCups for the last year and they are ok, but because of the way they are positioned I was having to take them out and reinsert them every single time I used the bathroom. This got really annoying at work in a bathroom with 10 stalls and a lot of traffic. The first day I used my new DivaCup was weird. I experienced zero leaks, but I just didn't find it comfortable, and I was constantly taking it out and putting it back in in an attempt to find the right method. I cut the stem off almost immediately, so I knew that wasn't the problem. After a bit of googling (and some self examination) it became clear that I have an extremely low sitting cervix during my period. There just isn't enough room to fit the whole cup in there, so a bit of it pokes out of me making it really uncomfortable. I decided to try turning it inside out, as suggested by women with similar issues, and viola! Suddenly this is the greatest thing ever invented. If you are worried about being able to use a DivaCup due to a low sitting cervix, don't be! Just turn it inside out and you too can go 12 hours (and 4 trips to the ladies room) without having to worry about your period.

This is an excellent alternative to tampons. It is not quite the miracle device other people rave about, but I prefer using this to tampons. The drawbacks of using this are not as bad as the drawbacks of using tampons. The main drawback of this device is that it is not idiot proof. You can put it in wrong, and you can take it out wrong. Even if you think you know what you are doing. Give yourself a week, at least. If you put it in wrong, it will leak. It needs to form a seal first, and you will know when it does. So when it is sealed you can be sure it is. If it is sealed, it will never leak. If you try to take it out wrong, you might not be able to get it out at all or you will experience pain from the suction. It's not a tampon, so you can't just pull it out. You have to also push with your vaginal muscles. It is silicone, so it will come out this way even if it was pushed in too far by accident. (No emergency visits to the gynecologist needed.) You also have to pinch the base to break the seal. This is all in the directions, but it is not something that women may be used to doing. Also, using the triangle method of insertion is the best way. I don't know why they put the u-fold in the directions in there. Use the triangle method. Once you get over the learning curve, this device is really great. It doesn't make my time of month a perfect, but the drawbacks are far less than the drawbacks of using tampons. It is especially nice during the end or beginning of the cycle, when the flow is light. One can just put it in and forget about it until the end of the day, because it can be left in for a long time without having to worry about TSS. The only time you even need to worry about being on a period is when your flow is heavy. Once it is in place, it's presence is less noticeable than a tampon. The silicone warms to the temperature of your body. The best part of this device is not having to deal with the negatives of tampons. Never again will I have to be embarrassed if I have an early monthly "surprise" and caught without reinforcements. I will never be embarrassed to have someone look through my purse and find tampons on accident. My bathroom will remain clean and fresh smelling. Any other bathrooms I use will remain clean and fresh smelling. If I can't find a bathroom at a certain time, no worries. The device has a high storage capacity. I love just being able to rinse any evidence of my period away, down the drain. It makes it so much easier to remain discrete.

I was skeptical, but Diva Cup is life changing. I've always used tamps and didn't have much of an issue with them, outside of the fact that I knew they were bad for my body and cost me a pretty penny every month for 15 years. A friend at work told me she'd been using the diva cup for a year now and said it was one of the best body decisions she's ever made. So I went for it and ordered one that day to try it out. Full disclosure, the first day is messy and uncomfortable, but the 2nd day I pretty much had it down and she was right, this thing is life changing. I put it in at 6am and left it in until 6pm. No leaks, no uncomfortability, when I took it out it was about 3 quarters full, so I could've even left it in for longer!! Love this thing, never going back.

Ok, so Im only a couple of days into using this product but within the first use I was in love. Never really having been happy with pads due to that not so clean feeling it can give a woman and tampons being the only other alternative, often leaving me so dry after a couple of days of use insertion would get uncomfortable. Happening upon this product during a search to restock my "monthly supplies" I was very intrigued to see the high reviews for this "cup contraption" :) though somewhat weary of how comfortable this product would be. The size, shape, texture, including the stem lead me to read lengthy reviews to see if this would really work for me. As women we all know how sensitive that region is & being so disgruntled with every other product made for us I just wanted to have something that made me feel "normal" during that time of the month. Not another product that was going to make me feel like a Thanksgiving Day turkey having my insides stuffed full. Sorry but thats often the way I felt with tampons. So I took the plunge and ordered this cup and I am so happy I did. Normally being so sensitive in that area, being allergic to latex & other synthetic things such as gels, creams, sprays & so on I was so relieved to find that I cant feel a thing while the cup is in place. Not a single irritation, literally it makes me feel as though Im not even on my period. Where as with tampons no matter what brand I used I could always feel them there. So that in itself is a major, major plus for me. At 31 years old & four children later I just want to be comfortable & not have to worry about my period...I have to many other things to focus on lol. The only thing Im working on now is the slight learning curve in using this product. Though slight, its a new process to get use to. Insertions easy to me but learning to "break the seal" during removal is still a little tricky when trying to keep hands clean. There is definitely a little more cleansing process when using this product but to me its well worth the efforts. Not only do I feel cleaner during using this product but also less dry & irritated. Im thinking by the end of this period I will have all the processes down. So to sum up my long winded review here I would have to say this is the best invention ever, been recommending it to all my friends, will save so much money & is the most comfortable thing ever created to aid women in their monthly cycles.

It took me a cycle to figure out the best way to insert/remove this thing so it's completely comfortable and leak-free, but I'm really glad I took the time to learn. The C-fold was terrible for me, but with the punch-down fold, it goes in comfortably and when I press on the side, it (gently) pops into place! I love how much money I'm saving by not having to buy pads and tampons, and this doesn't dry me out like tampons or produce an odor like pads. My usual mid-period skin irritation has disappeared, too. This seems to be a good option for a lot of women, especially those with heavy flow. If you have light flow, there are other options on the market that are smaller and might fit your needs better. For anyone trying a cup for the first time, my recommendation would be to wear a pad with it the first few times so you won't have to worry about leaking if you don't get it right on the first try.

Listen... I know this is a touchy subject for some but if you are reading the reviews for info and haven't tried products like these before there are few things you should know. 1. This isn't for everyone. First and foremost, you must be comfortable touching your body. You should know the depth of your vagina. This product will also require you to be comfortable w/your bodily fluids and touching them. If you cannot do that then this probably isn't for you... 2. If you can wear a tampon then you can most likely wear this. If you can remember what it was like to insert your first tampon. It was probably a little uncomfortable, at first and you may have had to readjust it a little bit. After the first few times, you may have gotten used to it. It's the same w/this and other products like this. All that said, I have used this product for 2 years now. I can swim, run, sleep and use the restroom w/out having to think about it. I like the fact that I use it on the heaviest part of my cycle and don't have to worry about the smell, the leaks or the string from the tampon. I can wear it for a long time, sometimes the whole of my cycle, and the only time that I need to remove it is to clean it. I don't have to worry about toxic shock and I feel free. I did clip the little tube on the end because it did stick out and I can wear it comfortably. I hope this review helps you, good luck!
