I would definetly buy this product again.

What do you buy 2 active 5 and 6 yr.old little boys for Christmas that doesn't require batteries? A dino soap making kit! This will be a welcomed gift under the tree this year for them. It will be fun (!) and a bit messy I'm sure but no batteries are needed and nothing to plug in. Just pure fun.

My friend's son is enthralled with the soap. He had to make it right away.

Good, clean fun!

This was a Christmas gift for my dinosaur loving niece (8) and nephew (6). Their mom said that it was so much fun and they really enjoyed creating the soaps. The picture shows the first set that they did. I would recommend this for any kid-teen who likes being creative. The bonus is that when the activity is over, you have adorable soaps to use at bath time for awhile.

Simple and Fun - Great Gift

Used this with my 4 year old. There are molds which must be snapped together properly. Everything you need is in the box. In other sets I've seen you need to buy other supplemental products, but in this one - the colors you can add, and scents (if you want) are there. Detailed instructions on how to use these additions -as well - as how to do multicolors. The only criticism I have is that there is a 'stand' to hold the mold while it cools and it can only hold one soap at a time. So if you want to make more than one at a time, you need to set up another stand (we used a dish rack) to hold the molds as they cooled. They cannot be laid down flat or the liquid will pour out. Just be prepared in your set up - read all the instructions first and you'll be fine. it was a lot of fun to make - and to use the soaps later. Great product and would buy again.

Looks like FUN!

This itme came quickly and although it's a Christmas gift for my grandson and hasn't been opened yet, the packaging is great and it looks like it will be a great project for hm to do at Nana and Papa's house!

Too complex for a 7yo but fun to do together

You definitely need to read the directions for this project. It requires careful use of a microwave. Do not let a child do the microwave part. Heads up, watch the clear soap base very closely while microwaving it. We needed less than the recommended microwave time because we have a strong microwave. The kit comes with the four basic colors (red, yellow, green, blue). Our 7yo saw the example dinosaur with four colors and decided he wanted to do it that way on our first try, which made the creation take much longer (each layer needs at least 45 minutes of cooling or else the colors mix in an unpretty way) and required me to read the directions at least 20 times to make sure I was doing it right. It would have been easier to start with one color, but it sure does look cool with four colors. The soap is not breaking apart where the colors touch; it's holding together as if it were made all at one time. Currently, it is used as a toy rather than soap, so I can't speak to its cleansing properties.

Fun

My gandsons had a wonderful time doing this and seeing the results. I had three boys ages 2 and twins age 4. I let them stir the melted soap in the beaker, choose the colors and sparkle they wanted and stir that in. However because the hold in the top of the molds was so small I had to pour the melted soap in myself. I would suggest however if you are working with more than one child on this only do one mold and one child at a time. It was so much fun for the kids and they loved seeing what they made. The removal of the soap from the molds was very easy and you could clean up the excess mostly with your fingers. WE HAD FUN
