I typically use a plug-in head trimmer for my beard but I was looking for something to do more detail work, and fade my sideburns easier. Unfortunately, this trimmer simply doesn't cut my hair. It takes me four times as long cause I keep having to go over the same area again and again. It's like trying to cut your grass with a dull blade. In short, don't bother if you have thick beard hair. It's fine for edge work, and I've already used it so I'll keep it for my son when he starts to get peach fuzz.
