Previously an owner of LS41 and switched to LS35x for the wireless capability. The headset is fully updated and the audio cuts out constantly and is very choppy, it's very distracting and aggravating during gameplay. I'm also not a fan of the volume dials being changed from the ls40's where the left cup controls game volume, right controls chat. With the ls35x left cup is master volume, right cup is a game/chat mixer. On the ls40 I can turn down teammates in game chat if they're too loud and with the ls35x there is no game chat volume. The game/chat mixer is useless unless in a party. Teammates are louder than the game sometimes and the only thing you can do is turn up the master volume (which also turns up teammates).

The charging port was loose from the time it was received. After about 4 months it stopped charging. I have since been going back and forth with LucidSound for 3 weeks on an RMA with an incompetent specialist named Micah over email. I have sent all the info needed based on the information given to me when I call there customer support. I sent the info on 4/22/20 and as of 5/4/20 I have still not been approved for the RMA. I have dealt with many company's over the years and customer support is vital. A good product can be destroyed by it. Corsair, Asus, Turtle Beach, have far superior customer service. I have requested an RMA with all listed companies and in the same time frame would have received the replacement by now. In a capitalistic society many times we vote with our dollar and companies that treat customer badly need to be reminded of that. This is the one and only product from LucidSound I will ever purchase.

Bottom line: does not work. It is either too loud or too soft. The chat volume mixed with game volume just do not work. I wanted these to be great and would have paid more than the asking price but will be returning as they are just unreliable. Very disappointed. EDIT: Amazon sent me a replacement set after I spoke with the manuf. Thank you Amazon! Unfortunately there is consistent audio about every 10 seconds! I will be returning this new pair as well! What a disappointment. DO NOT BUY unless you want to be constantly frustrated. EDIT 2: Head of engineering tried to work with me but the steps he gave me to update firmware on product did not work and he proceeded to tell me I need to be more patient. I said that this is not worth it and I should return the product and he said "OK bye" and hung up on me. I really wanted to like their products, but what choice do I have now but to go to their competition. Too bad all around.

UPDATE TO UPDATE: We were sent a new headset...new not refurbed...through warranty on 3/29/19. Now less than 3 months later the EXACT same thing is happening again. I am downgrading my review. buyer beware. Not worth the money you pay for the product and then the hassle to send back yo them every couple of months. UPDATE: The defect was covered under warranty, but you have to pay to ship it back yourself. In my case it was an additional roughly 20.00 with shipping and packaging. When I spoke to someone on the phone about the issue...he stated it was a known issue for some, but was not the normal. I hope he is correct and the new headset does not do the same thing. Bought for my husband. I am giving 3 stars because there is a defect with the headset...but as for the sound, clarity, and all other aspects they are superb. The issue...as per the pictures the headset is cracking on both sides. These have only been used for 4 months, never dropped, been taken very good care of, and stored properly when not in use. Going to be contacting the manufacturer and hopefully this will be covered under warranty.

I recently bought a turtle beach stealth 600 for my xbox. I wasnt happy with the construction of the plastic headset and the volume level. These ls35x worked great for the first few weeks. My firmware/software is up to date but now all sound is choppy and disconnects every 20 or so seconds. I have every other wifi and or bluetooth devices in my home off, but the problem still exists. My brand new controller is having issues as well now only when I try to use this set. I believe this an issue on Microsoft's end but I can't be sure. The stealth 600's never lost connection once, so I will be going back to those. I showed these ls to everyone in my circle but now i have informed them to stay away. I used them on a one, ones s, and xbox one x. This seems to be a glorified turd. DO NOT BUY! I am not an audiophile. Is it too much to ask for something that works as advertised? Also, I was offered free Amazon prime in exchange for my credit card information but it still took 5 days for this product to arrive. If it looks like scam, feels like scam, it is a scam.

+Sounds fantastic +Wireless works flawlessly (after firmware update) +Mic gives crispy clean audio for my squadmates !!!- Didn't even last a year of moderate gaming!!! It's really unfortunate that they decided to cheap out on the one piece of the headphone that takes the most stress -the ear swivel that connects the ear pieces to the headband is made out of a firm britle plastic which was a based idea. It started showing signs of stress fractures only 4 months in! By 6 months little pieces of plastic were breaking off of but the headphones were still operable. It continued to break and look worse and worse until today when the piece finally gave way and now my left earpiece is separating from the headband and is one wrong turn away from breaking off completely. That is UNACCEPTABLE for a $150 headset. I wish I could just refund this and buy a different brand, but I'm guessing the most I can do now is just get a warranty replacement that will last me another 6months until they are no longer obligated to replace it. STAY AWAY FROM THESE. Oh and for some contexts on my gaming, I have a wife and a full time job, so I get maybe 5 hours of video games a week. And I have a 3 yr old elite controller with no broken parts, so I take care of my stuff. This headset is just poorly made.

yeah, when you have a fully charged headset , sitting8 feet away, clear line of sight and audio drops out for 2 seconds every 2 seconds. it's suuuper annoying. they get 5 star for feel, design and all that. but i can find a paperweight for free in the backyard. I have 5 days to return this. 98% chance that'll happen. Just an FYI. The PDP Afterglow 9+ for about $70 has slightly better connection issues. for half the price. it's definitely cheaper, but you really want a true wireless mic. Over time, any wired mic connected to your controller WILL have feedback issues. It has on my 8 controllers and 6 or 7 headsets. December 14 update: I'll move this to 4 star. Would be 5 but you can buy this thing for $40+ less than I did as a guinea pig. anyway, I was using this on original xbox one. A week after my original review of 1 star, I got xbox one x. all connection issues pretty much went away. looking at reviews again, looks like there was a firmware update, so I JUST did that. hopefully it doesn't make it worse (haven't tried it yet). Overall it's a nice headset. probably worth the $180. wish i could get my CC to do price rewind but just outside the 60 days. August 2020 update: POS headset. Had to go back because of POS Xbox One X HDMI issue. Same connection issues. digitized/robotic sound every 1-2 minutes. constantly need to turn off headset. Also, treated headset nicely, but the plastic crack and broke where it holds the ear cups. now one side dangles. seriously, stay away from this. much better options out there. will never buy a lucid sound product again.

Update. Changed to one star. This company should be ashamed to have released a product in these condition. Drop outs have gotten worse, I have spent more time reconnecting and rebooting, than I have playing games. These are not worth 10 bucks let alone 180. Orderd two of these and both perform exactly the same, so I think I can rule out this just being a dud. Range on these things is about 1/2 or less than the controller, which is strange since I think they use the same tech. Sound cuts out about once a min for about a second or two and that is sitting about 6 feet from the Xbox. Mic monitoring does not work at all as far as I can tell, and I had to do the free finger reset on them out of the box, and twice in the last hour. I am thinking they should have delayed this launch a bit more to work out the kinks. I gave these two stars because they feel great, and sound is really nice (when it’s not cutting out). In their current state they are not even worth 1/2 the price, DO NOT buy...at least not ATM. And yes I tried all, the ‘tips’ for better performance. Sit directly in front of your Xbox was my favorite. Saddly for me, my kitchen is off axis, and the headsets can’t stay connected even though it is only a few yards away from my Xbox. I wanted these to be my forever headsets, and still have a hope the firmware update fixes things, but at 180 bucks per set, I am not going to risk missing the return window. TIL don’t preorder new tech.

UPDATE: (if I could leave 0 stars I would, i recieved this headset on February 21 it is may 4th as I'm writing this update. The headset is fully charged as shown by my xbox, it says it is connected but 0 sound comes through, I shut off the headset the xbox tried a different xbox but 0 sound on any of them. I was using them earlier in the day now nothing, I hooked back up my Astros and they work fine just not these.) I have purchased a lot of headsets, I have to say the reviews for this were very misleading. It connects wirelessly true enough but it constantly cuts in and out as if someone is playing with a light switch. Update, in order to stop the cutting in and out I have to turn off the headset and then hard reset the xbox, if that doesn't work the first time I have to keep doing it until it stops. Sometimes I can go 2 weeks without having to do the reset which is an annoyance. when I talk it sounds like something is vibrating inside the ear cuff. The battery lasts pretty long on it which impressed me I've had a couple of wireless headsets now and this is definitely the longest lasting. It didn't take long for the band across the top to stretch to comfortably fit my head. In party chat my friends say I'm really quiet unless I'm eating the mic or yelling, but the mic feedback works well enough to know if I'm being overly loud. If it weren't for the constant cutting in and out it would have a four or five star from me and as far as I can tell I have all of the xbox accessories updates so it shouldn't be a firmware update. Sound quality seems decent enough, I do wish for a little more base but it is to be expected from a wireless headset to be lacking in that department, I haven't tried it with Dolby atmos because I don't want to subscribe to purchase my surround sound so I'm not sure on the performance with that.

Junk. I'm returning this immediately. Unboxing, I was impressed with what seemed like a high quality headset. The finish was nice, the materials appear to be high quality. I was stoked to sync this up and give it a try. Syncing was a piece of cake. But I was immediately disappointed. First any tiny adjustment to the boom mic resulted in an ear wrenching static noise, not dissimilar to a guitar being plugged into a live amp. Once I stopped fussing with the mic and started using them they worked. But that is the best thing I can say. First off if I had the volume on anything but maxed out I would get a static noise like a bad potentiometer. Now I'm not an audiophile by any stretch but I do have a fairly discerning ear and I was expecting a huge increase in quality over the $40 set I've been using. No such luck. These were louder, and they did a better job of isolation but the quality in my opinion the quality of the sound was the same if not a little worse as the highs seemed a bit tapered and muffled. Directional sound with Atmos was no better either. After playing for about an hour I did begin to notice the weight of the set as well. Not sure how long I could actually continue to wear them. Moving on to later that evening I decided to try them again. This time to my surprise though I couldnt get thr mic to work at all. Using team overlay, when i spoke, my name came up, but no one could hear me. This has to be some kind of software glitch is all I can think. Switched to my old headset and no one had any issues hearing me, so it was definitely a problem on my end. The next morning I thought I'd give them another shot. So I resynced them to the Xbox. They connected but now nothing would work at all. No audio or mic functions. They were on and synced properly but nothing. I waited for months for these to come out. After multiple delays it seems these are nothing more than a paperweight. Seems to me they look better than they're actually made based on the scratchy components and the software issues make them a non starter.
