Were good whilst lasted.

On arrival i was pleasantly surprised with the product over all, The sound was on point, Mic was decent, Comfort all of those things were great, Unfortunately my pair developed a crack at each end of the headband where the joint allows the headset cans to swivel, Possibly just a one off issue with my pair, As they felt really stiff to turn inwards which i think caused the stress crack on the plastic parts holding the joint together, The headphones were used with care and had them for approximately 2 weeks. One other issue which seems to happen to alot of customers is the dropouts, My Xbox is approximately 3 feet away from the headset on my desk, And would suffer from frequent drop outs of audio, Which even the update did not resolve, Occasionally the headset would just turn off also. Later found that high wifi traffic areas cause this issue, Which interfere with the headset connection. This is an issue with all wireless headsets which direct connect to xbox, So i feel its the wireless protocol used, and not necessarily the fault of the headset as it needs to use this to connect to the xbox, Other than those annoying issues, When working, Sound and mic were very good I don't think direct connect for xbox is quite there yet. I would personally go with a headphone with usb wireless connection if you want wire free headphones. Until xbox step up the game with other wireless support, this will be an issue across the board.

Great for Xbox

I had high hopes for the LS35X having yearned for a completely wireless solution and having read mostly positive reviews but my early impressions are of one or two short comings! I have been used to using a highly rated combo of the Astro mixamp along side modded Senheisser hd558 and modmic a setup that if not the most premium certainly offers better than average audio and comfort! I think making a comparisons here would be a little unfair so instead i’m going the use the Sony Ps4 Gold headset as benchmark since it is a trully wireless headset albeit for a different gaming system. First impressions on unboxing was of a reasonably premium build quality if a bit heavier than expected. Audio where I think the LS35X headset shines when compared to most wireless options this headset has plenty of volume with great base however I found the spacial awareness somewhat lacking. I found next to no difference wether I configured with Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos and although vaguely directional found it somewhat disoriented compared with the accuracy of the Gold headset although I would say I do much prefer the protruding mic with its nifty earcup mute button and also the volume/mixer dials are also pretty neat though tricky to get a handle on. My next priority after sound is comfort and I was surprised after reading so much positive about the LS35X and how comfortable it was. I relise we come in all shapes and sizes but personally I found it a little uncomfortable after quite a short period of time i’m not really sure why but suspect it is mostly due to the weight of the headset which does feel quite heavy compared to the Golds and certainly less comfortable. Next up battery life which is perhaps why it is quite a weighty headset. I found that the battery life is good however the drop off from the reported medium charge seemed somewhat dramatic and caught me out switching off mid session so you might want to get in to the habit of plugging in between sessions I’m a bit ocd about full cycling new batteries particularly early on so this situation may improve. All in all the LS35X is a great headset but if you could buy the Golds for Xbox there would be a clear winner with that headset coming in at around £100 less when it’s on offer.

Audio drops ruining these headphones

Serious gamers avoid these headphones. Sound is good but very frequent audio drops are a major problem for serious gamers.
