Creap platic or design flaw?

The sound can be real good with just occasional static popping. Not the real problem. There's a design flaw. The plastic cracks around the pivit point. Triangular cracks form on the ear cup side. sent one pair back and they warranted them no problem but the replacement is already showing signs of cracking. I am very careful iwth these and have e a average size head so there's no excuse. They may warranty these but why bother if they keep breaking.

Needs firmware update

Edit: updated to 3 stars. The firmware updates have made the audio cutouts less frequent but they do still occur. One star until they update the firmware and fix the audio cut outs. Unfortunately if there is a lot of interference with the wireless, expect lots of audio loss (audio cutting in and out). This shouldn't be an issue as it doesn't happen with another headset I own. They are expected to address this with a firmware update but until then I would shy away from this headset.

Not great at telling the user what is going on

Loved the red light when you mute the mic, but where are the other lights? How can I tell when it is on or when it's trying to connect? Quality seems solid, and it's definitely comfortable, but it's difficult to use (especially if you switch between consoles). Also seemed to have some flakiness in audio quality on one of the xbox one's I play on (but just that one). Difficult to debug, but the headset definitely doesn't help you figure it out.

Great Audio

Nice product. Power button seems to be sticking and not actually pushing. Very light use and I hang them up on a headphone hanger when not in use. Not as comfortable as some others... the high rating... the audio/sound is fantastic!!

Fantatsic headphones, but they came with no boom mic

The sound quality is first class, but the item I rcvd had no boom mic. I found a USD12 boom at the LucidSound site and just bought that rather than messing around with a return.

Beautiful sound quality and easy to connect, but my mic did not work properly...

Beautiful product and well built. Sound quality is very comparable to my Turtle Beach X41s from 2007, even without the optical cable. Hoping these would replace them as the X41s recently died. However, the boom mic provided feedback (echoing, etc.) that was unbearable to my teammates when playing with them. Removing the boom mic and using the built-in mic made my voice too quiet to them. After exhausting the troubleshooting tips, I had to return these because of no remedy for the feedback in the mic. I don't see this complaint in any other reviews, so I think I just unfortunately got a bad set.

Convenience vs. Sound Quality... compared to Astro A50

PROS: 1) Convenience - connects as effortlessly as a controller. 2) Styling - looks are classy - wouldn't be an embarrassment it worn in public. 3) Comfortable 4) Detachable microphone CONS: 1) The Astro A50s exist. Compared to Astro A50s (I own both): ....the Astro A50s completely blow these away in terms of sound quality definition (Atmos sounds better), bass output, and volume. The ability to customize EQ settings (and store three equalizer settings on the headset itself) further enhances the A50 experience. I have the Xbox version and they look a little ridiculous with the green and non-detachable mic...but trust me - if sound quality is most important to you - the Astro A50s are without question the headset you want.

Comfortable to wear for long hours. But audio problems and design flaws are a no go.

While they are comfortable and full of nice features. The constant audio drops and the fact that the plastic hinge connecting the headphones to the head band are a big negative. My first headset lasted 7-8 months before the hinges broke. The customer service was great and they replaced the headset with a brand new one. I expected the hinges breaking to be a one time thing and the audio problems to be fixed with a new headset. But sadly that was not the case. And now 5 months later the hinge on this headset has broken. I will say that they worked well, when they worked. But I expected a much better product for my money.

Average at best but lacking where you want it

It's a very nice looking headset but the audio control is very awkward. The main volume on the left controls the overall volume so you either have to take the game and chat audio at max to hear clearly or medium and too low to hear one of the two clearly. The right side doesn't control bow loud the chat is, but instead you pick if you want the game to be loud or the chat. You can not have both. Plus raising or lowering audio is not precise when adjusting the knobs so it never feels like I ever have the audio quality I want. Had them 3 months now and if I could go back I'd pick differently but they do get the job done as a completely wireless headset so not too bad I guess

Sound quality great! Build quality mediocre.

I would’ve given this headset a five star rating except for some build quality issues. After reading the reviews on making sure to do the firmware update (which was indeed easy to do), I began enjoying it. The sound quality is really good, though it can distort with really high highs, it handles bass really well, not too much for distortion but enough to feel a small kick, and works equally as good wired, though of course no wireless features. HOWEVER! The area around the ear cups that connects to the headband has started to crack and I only bought these a little over a month ago! They have been taken care of on a daily basis; never dropped, banged against anything, or physically mishandled in any way. Just normal use of putting on the headset (which I always made sure to do gently and slowly) has caused these cracks. For the price these headphones should never have this problem...
