I bought this as a christmas present and washed it for the first time after pretty regular use. As soon as I did so, the blanket stopped working entirely. There is no visible damage, but clearly it is not designed to actually be washed as the directions on the blanket state. It was great until it broke. Not worth the $60 I paid for it for 3 months of use, though!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really looking forward to using this as the weather gets colder, but I cannot get it to work. I obviously received a defective unit. The power box and control button keep flashing and won’t allow the unit to turn on. The troubleshooting says that this means the power cable isn’t securely connected at the blanket but I have checked and rechecked, disconnected and reconnected over and over again and it seems completely secure, but the unit refuses to operate. Such a massive disappointment. The material feels very nice, but you can really feel the heating elements through the material which isn’t very comfortable. The size of the throw is on the smaller side too. Not what I expect from Brookstone.

Only used a few times. Was given as a gift and quit working after a month and a half. The automatic shut off feature quit working. You have to make sure to unplug because it won't shut off.

Blanket died after two months very disappointing

I very carefully hand washed this ONE time and let it air dry on a flat surface and it never worked again.

If you buy this don’t ever think about washing it like the instructions say because it will immediately brake and never work again. So cheap.

This blanket does not work! Second times using it half of the blanket was cold. Strongly recommend NOT buying.
