[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We needed an antenna for our family room tv, so when our satellite dish gets clomped with snow, we could still watch local tv. An amplified antenna (the kind that plugs in to an electrical outlet) is a must for the best picture quality, so I was eager to try out the Philips Elite. I love the blue light signal-strength indicator, as it really does show you the best possible placement to get the strongest reception you can. From where our TV is located, the best we could get was 5 out of 8 possible bars; for us, this is pretty good, as our house is located in a semi-dead zone, which even has trouble with cell phone reception. The Philips Elite is able to pull in all 20+ of our available local channels and sub-channels, so it's doing it's job. I would recommend giving it a try if you have need of an antenna for locals.

I thought maybe this would be the same, but it picked up the same channels and every channel had max signal strength - and I only have the antenna sitting in the back corner of the TV stand. Reception has been consistently stable and quick to capture with high quality video. Definitely recommended for catching local channels.

This antenna was easy to attach to my tv. It took only a few minutes to attach and begin receiving a signal. It is able to pick up all of my local channels and provides a great picture.

I connected it to my tv, scanned all the available channels and now I have almost 100 new channels to watch.
