Doesn't soothe my dragonbaby

Naptime is a struggle, bedtime is a cr@pshoot. I have spent so much money on soothers, sound machines, apps etc. Had high hopes for this, but it just doesn't soothe my little sleep deprived munchkin. It is cute and portable, but expensive. I will keep trying for the rest of the week, but I am very disappointed. I so need some sleep myself.

Good concept bad execution of product

The concept is great but the product design is horrible! So hard to understand what the 3 different curved shapes mean (literally had to google it to figure out they are for different lengths of time) and usually when you’re putting a baby to sleep it’s dark and you can’t see the darn settings! Would be a much better product if it had a longer setting for too- longest is 30 mins. My baby startles when it stops sometimes so I have to go in and reset it. Also annoying it doesn’t stand upright or rest flat as another person commented. Could be so much better given the $30 price tag

Great Concept, Poor execution

Don’t waste your money! On the loudest setting it is not loud enough for my baby.. and like other reviews have mentioned there should be an option for it to keep playing- 30 minutes is not enough. The speaker is at the base which doesn’t make sense if you wanna stand it up you can’t hear anything and the lanyard? There’s no point because it’s so short. Save your money and just get the app or listen to the free YouTube video of a woman doing the shushing noise! They could easily remake this and it would be awesome!

Worked great until it didn't.

Bought this product because my friend did. Loved it at first. Went out before my newborn was even 2 months old.. The "shush" sound just keeps skipping and won't play the complete song. I'm so annoyed. I took it apart, changed the batteries and it won't stop. So bummed because I really loved it when it worked.

Junk Product

Breaks easily and forget trying to repair a damaged wire after you drop it. Kudos to them for making a cash cow because this thing about $2.0 worth of parts in it and uses the cheapest thinnest wire on the planet. The speaker wire on ours came loose so I thought I’d just solder it back on. Trying to put it back together all the other little wires come off. Poorly made!

Poorly designed, good marketing team

I’ll start by saying the shushing sound seems to work. After that, it is very poorly designed. Obviously it’s hard to come by two free hands when holding a baby, but this shusher basically requires both to turn either the volume or the timer knob (both of which need to be turned for it to function). It is also rounded on all sides except one so if you set it on a hard surface it tends to roll. The only flat side is the side with the speaker so if you stand it upright it muffles the sound. Maybe most importantly of all, it only runs for either 15-30 minutes which passes way too quickly. There’s no setting to keep it continually running. I’ve had to turn it back on 3 times so far tonight. It appears the marketing team has gone above and beyond given the success of the product.

Fundamental Design Flaws

The simple reason why this thing is flawed, and consequently super annoying, is because it takes two hands to turn it on. So many times I want to turn it on while I’m holding my baby while starts fussing, but it’s just not possible with one hand. A second extremely annoying element of thus is its physical design - it stands up one way only, which places the speaker flat against the surface its placed on. So if you set it on a table then the speaker is flush with and looted directly at/into the table. What were they thinking???

Can't Live With It; Can't Live Without It.

The Baby Shusher is quite possibly the most poorly-designed product on the market that also happens to work quite brilliantly. Consider first that the speaker is on the only flat surface of the entire device. While you will likely have a soft area to lay the shusher sideways on, or even something to hang it from, it must be stabilized in place on hard surfaces, like a night stand or dresser. Even the product image shows the shusher speaker-down. Next is the rotary-dial on/off, which must be turned fully from one side to the other in order to commence shushing. DO NOT attempt this with your child in your arms, or you are sure to reverse any calming you may have spent precious time working towards. If you are able to turn the device one-handed to the off position, you (and your baby) will hear a loud 'CLICK' as it goes off, and another 'CLICK,' as it turns back on. Maddening. Last, but not least, is the 15 or 30 minutes timer. This is the one that truly takes away the stars. Why on earth would you place a limit on how long the shusher should run? My infant son is now conditioned to sleep only 30 minutes, as he wakes up at the abrupt end of the timer and ensuing silence. And finally, FORGET THE COMPANION APP, too. It's not the same tone, but rather one slowed way down and at a different timbre. Useless other than the 12-hour timer. Yes, that's right. Someone acknowledged that 30 minutes was not enough time. I still award two stars, because, after all, for the thirty minutes this oddly-shaped and angering device is turned on, your baby is going to fall asleep.

Puts baby to sleep, turns off too quickly - do not recommend

I have a love/hate relationship with this product. It works to put baby to sleep and you can walk away and it soothes baby instantly - however 30 minutes is too short. It turns off too quickly and wakes baby up. Not worth the price if all it does is shush for 15-30 minutes to then wake your baby up when it turns off.

When it stops working...

Unscrew the single crew on the top, then the four screws on the piece that covers the electronics. The bottom of the battery holder is secured by melted plastic “bolts”. Only two of the four bolts had been melted on mine, so the bottom of the battery holder (and the leads) fell off. I had to use a hot knife to re-melt and attach the base of the battery holder (while positioning the leads) to get it to work again. Also wiped off a lot of clear lubricant.
