I'm not a fan of regular LED lights. I love these clear globe lights. I use them in my bathroom fixtures. They are bright but not glaring. The circular LED is not noticeable.

I have had the 40-watt equivalent version of this exact product for about 3 years now. I recently bought the 60-watt equivalent version, This review will cover both products, I cannot cosmetically tell a difference between the 2 products. I use a generic light bulb strip, along the top of my bathroom, where 8 of these bulbs are exposed and are the only source of lighting in a full bathroom in my townhouse. Since these bulbs are very exposed, I am pleased to have this VARIATION, as they look a little fancier, cosmetically. The box says 13 years of use, but I use this bathroom a little more than 4 hours a day, probably, and 1 bulb has burned out after 3-4 years, I can't complain. However, buy 2 extra, in case you cannot find these unique bulbs in 3-4 years. They are very adequately bright for my purpose. I tried other bulbs before I settled on these 3 years ago, and the 40-watt equivalent is pleasantly bright, especially in a bathroom. If you have to MIX 40-watt bulbs with 60-watt like I do, you will not be able to tell which bulbs are 40 and which are 60. When I recently replaced several old bulbs with 60-watt upgrades, I could tell the overall difference, but I couldn't tell that every-other bulb was a higher wattage bulb. These are somewhat unique bulbs. They aren't cheap. If you like the cosmetic appearance of these, you will like them overall. They use 6 or 7 watts of energy, the efficiency is crazy.

Wanted to match up all the exterior lights on the house we purchased as they were a mixture of incandescent, CFL and LED with varying brightness. These bulbs provide a diffused light that is bright but not blinding. Very pleased with the overall result.
