I bought the Unlimited Languages Lifetime subscription through another reputable reseller. It seemed okay until I tried to switch languages and found that this option didn't exist in my user menu, despite what is shown in the online help. Having to contact support to use a key feature is unacceptable. I recommend Duo instead. It's just as good if not better for learning foreign languages. Rosetta Stone has a slight edge on speech recognition, but that's about it.

Overall, Rosetta stone is easy to use. But sometimes its ideology gets in the way. In Hindi, the writing lessons lack reasonable feed-back and explanation on how the writing functions. For example, the special symbol for a preceding r sound on top of a vowel is the r connected to the following consonant, which is hard to tell. Apparently, the order in which accents are put in matters for evaluation correctness, but the writing looks the same. Also, the lessons jump in difficulty a lot. Overall, learning writing with Rosetta stone might be fine for German or French, but for other languages, it is pretty useless. There is not enough meaningful repetition. One has to review the same lecture over and over again to learn the vocabulary. Unfortunately, for some less popular languages, Rosetta stone is one of the few decent courses.Difficult grammar concepts are not explained, but there is also a lack of examples. This seems to be because the same images are used for many different languages. Also, the images are hard to interpret. Can really everyone tell the age of a little child from a picture? Well, I cannot.

While going through three different languages I noticed that they only cover basic sentences and give a general understanding of the languages offered. There doesn't seem to be a way to learn more words or other phrases past the last lessons. Seems like there should be more to these products.

Bought for my kid to learn multiple languages. My kid did not enjoy this. Says it is far to easy not enough challenge. Got much better experience learning from work books and meeting with tutor.

I purchased this to primarily to learn Japanese and the biggest red flag was that they don't teach you how to actually interpret the characters. There's an alphabet section tucked away in a menu under the profile tab that I only recently found, but it doesn't have any way to practice your understanding of the characters or sounds prior to jumping head into the Core Lessons. There are no flashcards to learn them or anything like that just a chart that you can hover over to get the sounds. Odd that there's non way to test your knowledge of the characters at all.I've given it a two star rating for lack of beginner friendly teaching tools and study methods since I'm very much a beginner. I'm having to use outside sources to learn the BASICS prior to even being able fully utilize Rosetta Stone. I've completed two full days of lessons and honestly they are just confusing. I've picked up some things, but there doesn't feel like a clear path that you're following. For example: Day 1 Core Lesson 1.1 Basic Sentences... It doesn't explain anything along the way. You're given a picture of orange juice with ジュース written above it and you're expected to just know from the audio that it's Katakana ジji ュyu ー(place holder character to indicate the previous is a stretched vowel) スsu. While this is a very easy example, it gives no indication of if they are using Hiragana or Katakana. You're just expected to figure it out. I'm so surprised that they don't eve offer a "heads up Japanese is a syllabic language".It just feels strange to have ZERO explanations of any kind, don't even get me started on the grammar section, again with NO explanations of what they are highlighting. You just have to make your best guess and roll with it. End of the day, this could be a useful tool, but I would say it's NOT for beginners especially for a characterized language that is different from your native language.

This product does not translate or explain anything in your native language. This software teaches by trial and error. This method works for flashcard like lessons such as objects, and colors. It does not help when it comes to understanding why the language is spoken the way it is. I found the conversation parts very difficult by this method. I would have preferred an explanation and an English translation alongside the lessons. The lessons are pictures and words that you match. You also need to match what they are saying to the picture or finish the sentence. At one point they just start having a conversation with pictures and you have to choose the right response.I purchased the lifetime subscription. You access this content from a web browser on your computer or you can download their app. Microphone and a headset are recommended.

Please read their Terms and Conditions - found in very small print and the very bottom of their website."Lifetime" does not mean YOUR lifetime, but the lifetime of the product!I purchased it many years ago, but they no longer support that version of the product, and now I no longer have access to it online. They do not provide a path to upgrade, but to purchase the whole thing again. If you look them up in the BBB website, you will see many complaints from unhappy customers such as myself.I suggest giving your business to companies that don't use deceptive and sneaky marketing techniques!

Wrong advertising should be 25 languages instead 24
