Everyone that has one has never had any problems and I have grandmothers who have passed down their kitchen aids and they still work just fine and are compatible with all the new attachments. Pricey but worth it. You'll never have to buy a mixer again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am 76 years old and this 4.5 mixer is the third KitchenAid stand mixer that has graced our kitchen. It was without a doubt my best Christmas gift this year. We have used these mixers to slice and dice vegetables, we used this mixer to make fresh pasta, we used this mixer to combine ingredients from making all types of breads to making fine delicate, cookies and candies. I think it fair to say our stand mixers have been use by myself or my wife almost daily in the last 30 years. Lastly I have bragged about the versatility and ease of use that I have made numerous family and friends into "K A" junkies.

Now I realize how much more fun (and clean, somehow) this mixer makes cooking. I have a small galley kitchen with very little real estate for appliances, but this mixer will always live on my counter. Last week, I made whipped ganache, a cake, and my first round of fresh pasta!
