Just ok

I replaced my previous kitchenaid with this one about two months ago and am disappointed. When I use the dough hook, the dough climbs up the attachment and on to the actual mixer - which makes for a lot of clean up after. Also, the head of the mixer moves around when it is mixing on higher speeds, even though it is locked in position. I should have just tried to have my previous mixer repaired.

Attachments are awful

I received my mixer for Christmas of 2013 I've only used it maybe twice. I would love to use it more however my attachments are nasty every time I have used them I get black all over me. It's like they are coated with something that I cannot get rid of. Are there stainless steel attachments available.

Mixer

It is okay. Nothing special. Bought it because my old one died. Price is high, hopefully it will last awhile. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Troublesome issues....

I bought this mixer almost two years ago. It is a smaller version of the one I owned previously. I expected the same quality at this price point, but unfortunately, this was not the case. The issues I have a problem with are pretty basic. The bowl does not have a handle to remove it from the mixer. Seems like no big deal, but when you are mixing stiffer batter, it really gets stuck pretty tight. I've had to scoop out my batter more than once & wait for my husband to return so that he could remove the bowl for me. Which leads me to mixing attachments. I have used the whipping tool many times and had no problems cleaning it and using it again. The paddle attachment, I can not say the same for. Every time I use it and wash it, it acquires a black film on it. I have to use soap & water with a paper towel to rub off the black 'grease' type finish before I can use it, or the batter/frosting turns grey. I have tried to find another attachment that would work, but none that I have found will fit the bowl. The price of this mixer is not much lower than the next level up. With that mixer I would have received a bowl with a handle and a coated paddle attachment. I find this frustrating as it is still an expensive mixer.

Always wanted a KitchenAid

I have always wanted a KitchenAid and was very excited to receive this mixer as a gift. Now imagine my disappointment the first time I tried to mix bread dough. All the ingredients are mixed together, dough hook is installed and makes a handful of revolutions... then boom! The bowl spins out of the lock plate. Operator error? Nope. Multiple attempts are made with the same results. And no, the mixer is not cranked up to 10. Now I’m left with a bowl that spins through the lock plate without locking in place and the kitchen appliance of my dreams being nothing more than a decorative piece.

Concerning noise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The machine is a nice color, but the mixer makes a concerning noise for it being brand new. I bought it in November and I just used it for the first time in February. I love the kitchen aid brand and I’ll only buy their mixers, but the loud noise made by my brand new machine is concerning considering how much I paid for it.

Scary Sound and Unlocking head

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My husband gifted this to me for mother’s day last May2021 and I got to use it a couple of times for bread doughs and cookies. There was no problem with the cookie batter, however it was a totally different performance with bread doughs. I cannot crank up the speed to 6 because the head looks like it is breaking apart from the body and even the lock is loosening with all the intense vibrations of the head. To think that I just used 3cups of flour for this recipe and my KitchenAid capacity is 4.5Quarts. I am just disappointed with the performance. I didn’t think it would be this unstable and the sound is just scary. I cannot leave the mixer on for a few seconds and step away from it bec I am scared this might totally unlock and blow up in my kitchen!

Your just buying a status symbol here

Bought this model on a super deal one day. Have had mine for a couple years but just started using it more regularly, motor bogs down when making bread and cookies. It’s not as powerful as I’d like it to be. Disappointed for as much as everyone says they’re so great.

Useless & frustrating

Poor performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Worse stand mixer I have ever had. Does not mix any ingredients off sides and bottom of mixer bowl. Bowl is small so I constantly have to pull bowl completely away from stand to scrape.
