AMAZING machine!!

I am addicted to Smoothies--actually, my whole family is, and it was getting really expensive to spend the cost equivalent of a Venti latte for 3 people several times a week at our local smoothie shop. One of my best friends from college told me about the Vitamix, and I really never thought much about it, as they were priced in the neighborhood of $450 at the time. But since my family's obsession with smoothies was beginning to cost us in the 4-figures over a period of about 6-8 months, I thought about the Vitamix again--particularly since they are used at our smoothie shop. And then one fortuitous Saturday morning in October I got a text from Amazon that the Treasure Truck was in town with a fantastic deal on none other than the Vitamix blender. Since then, it's become a love affair with a kitchen appliance. And who could NOT love an appliance with a SELF-CLEANING FUNCTION that actually gets the job done very well!As far as it's functionality, it has an incredibly powerful motor that crushes ice instantly. It is not nearly as loud as I thought it would be, which was a very pleasant surprise. I am hyper-sensitive to noise, and this is very tolerable, especially since it works so quickly. Once you have a favorite recipe (and it comes with a book of them!) that you have down pat, it takes less than 2 minutes to blend a full pitcher of ingredients. It has proven to be a very worthwhile investment, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a high-powered blender that isn't going to burn out after a dozen or so times of making frozen drinks with ice. Definitely a great purchase!!

Most durable blender on the market

I used this mainly for smoothies and so I don't work this blender very hard, but it had won the best blender award.

Excelent blender.

I am using this to produce marvelous smoothies and sauces. I also will use it to produce salsa. I have an older Vitamix recipe for zucchini salsa which is excellent.

Perfect for home use

Use these at work and although this isn’t the commercial model it’s still unmatched to any other blender I’ve worked with. It’s actually too good for some uses if you don’t want things puréed completely smooth.

My go-to for shakes, juices, and food processing in one!

My juicer of 1.5 years broke on me and I thought about getting a new juicer, but it looked like they all might break after a year or two based on the reviews. I wanted to be able to juice carrots and the normal blender wouldn't do that. So I figured maybe I can just buy a Vitamix (with a warranty) and not worry about it breaking. It was about double the cost of a good juicer, but if good juicers break in 2 years, after 4 years the vitamix would cover that with it's warranty and keep working for many years. That's my thoughts/hopes anyway. So the vitamix turns carrots into mush, and I just use a strainer or nut milk bag to get the juice out of it if I want juice with no pulp. This is a lot easier to clean than a juicer also. You can just add some soap and water and blend to clean it.Since I'm vegan I've used it to make nut-cheeses and avocado-chocolate pudding (blending figs and dates with cacao powder) rather than use a food processor. And I've make plain shakes with it also. So the expense covers a juicer, blender, food processor all in one product, covered by a great warranty. It's been working out great so far. I've never had smoother nut cheeses, the pudding was excellent, and I love the cleanup (way better/faster than cleaning a juicer each time I want juice).

Blender beast

This thing is a beast. First of all I would like to say I have owned many blenders like I'm sure many people have. I have had the nutri bullet, nutri bullet pro, nutri bullet blender combo and a ninja 1100watt blender. As well as some oyster and other lower end blenders. This thing is a beast compared to all the ones mentioned above.I mostly make smoothies with this but have also made hot soup with it, with no problem. The smoothies come out so smooth and non chunky. It's like if you got a smoothies from Jamba Juice or Robeks Juice. If you have the budget I would definitely recommend this Blender. If you are looking for a more affordable blender I would also look into Nutri Bullet Blender combo. That thing is a beast for the price and size.Only negative is it's loud? It's a blender.... I have never ran into a blender that isn't somewhat loud. Get over it..

Worth the $

I am pretty frugal so spent a lot of time considering whether I really wanted to spend so much on a blender. So far, totally worth it - this thing blends everything into smithereens so quickly. We're eating twice as much greens because even the gross stems on kale blend so well they completely disappear into a smoothie. We can make nice cream in 30 seconds flat. Super easy to clean, haven't had to do anything extra beyond their directions to blend water with a drop of dish soap. I haven't tried hummus or nut butter yet. Blender is definitely loud but you're running it for such a short time, it doesn't bother me; it's worth it for the blending power. I have not tried the shorter, squatter Vitamixes for comparison, but purchased this one so that I could do smaller volumes without problems (pleased so far). Fits under the kitchen counter only if the container is on the side of the base, not when all together.

I love this blender

I love this blender! My old blender was a very good Cuisinart one but it struggled with my smoothies. I would slice up all the hard stuff for it, like carrots, ginger root, etc. I also throw frozen things into my smoothies like frozen bananas, blueberries or strawberries. The old blender would work hard, you could hear it. I was afraid that it would eventually burn out plus the smoothies came out with little chunks of the harder vegetables in them. With this Vitamin I do not even have to cut things up much at all. I will maybe break a carrot in half but I can just toss in a chunk of ginger, add any other fruit and vegetables including a hunk of lime with the skin on and ramp this blender up. I start on low, turn the dial up and then hit the lever for max. It sounds almost like a jet engine starting up, much quieter of course, but with that kind of power. The smoothie comes out silkie smooth and the blender does not struggle at all. It is a beautiful and delicious thing. As a plus this blender will even heat up stuff you put in it from friction so you can make soups.I chose this model with the tall thin container because I saw tests that showed the shorter wider containers in all blenders caused a lot more turbulence and thus incorporated more air causing the smoothie texture to be a bit less palatable. The only issue for some (and I already knew this so was prepared) is that the blender will probably not fit on the counter under an upper cabinet. I just store it with the container beside the motor.

Early review! Great blender!

I’ve only had the product for a couple of weeks and I’ve made a couple of smoothies with it. Without a doubt the best blender I’ve owned, also the most expensive, but worth the price.Cleaning is easy, my smoothies are creamy and I don’t feel any fibers as with other blenders. Overall great product.
