unit primarily because it was Self-Cleaning and of course, a Vitamix. I have been reading all the reviews and considered every model available. This was my pick and I love it. The books that are included offer tasty recipe ideas but most importantly teach the user the order in which to add ingredients and all the safety steps the operator of a Vitamix must use. One of the Vitamix reviews graphically illustrates the dangers of misusing these machines. If the young mother holding her baby or her mother had bothered reading these important safety instructions, they could have easily avoided the incident they caused. Fortunately, no one was hurt but it illustrates why you read FIRST.

I love this blender. I delayed years, because of the price, mostly. But now, I’m so happy. I make two smoothies a day, with protein and fruit, protein and veggies. This blender handles it all, and is super- easy to clean afterwards! There’s lots more for me to explore with this blender,but for now, it does a fantastic job with anything I throw at it.

I love this blender so much that I bought another one for a different house. It's a total workhorse. It's so great that I haven't bothered to replace my food processor when it broke b/c this blender basically does the job. I mostly make smoothies and sauces in it. It's loud but what blender isn't? Very easy to clean.

I have not used it for everything it said it can do, but so far it works as designed.

Pure power. Blends very quick so the noise is really a non factor. But it’s a smooth powerful sound so it’s not even annoying.It doesn’t have any programmable settings. But with how fast it works I’m not sure how useful those are anyway.

If you have never owned a Vitamix, you should do so. They are the best. I use to purchase cheep blenders at Target, but they only lasted about two years. Vitamix lasts for ever, blend much better and have a great warrantee and guarantee. Blending is such an easy way to get your 3 requires servings of fruits and vegetables. I blend a whole lemon, peal and all, in the morning, and at night I blend carrots and apple together for a great nutritional cocktail. I also have a smoothie from Almond milk, a frozen banana, a frozen fruit blend from Costco, collagen powder and protein powder for an incredible healthy drink. My friend has had his Vitamix for 18 years and it's still going strong. You can't go wrong with a Vitamix. It will save you so much money in the long run.Marshall, Orange County, Ca

The Vitamix 5200 blender is such a fantastic cooking companion. I'm coming a Ninja blender and there is most notably a big improvement in terms of quality, with lesser but also notable improvements in performance and ease of use with the Vitamix blender. The Vitamix design is simple yet effective and cleaning has also been much easier when compared to my old Ninja blender that has a really tall blade. When cleaning this Vitamix, food particles can occasionally get stuck underneath the blade and can be sometimes challenging to clean depending on what you've blended.The Vitamix 5200 is also very TALL so I would advise you to measure your counter space if you want it to fit well underneath your shelving as one piece; the newer Vitamix 5300 model is more squatty and may fit better. The newer 5300 model also has a pulse option if that matters to you; the 5200 model does not. It didn't matter to me either way and I enjoy the white color.

This blender makes me want to buy a new car. This is because, like my old blender, I have a car. It is a fine car - a good make, and the model works well for me. It does everything I need it to do. I have 130,000 miles on it and have owned it for 10 years. I love this car. But if I test drove a new one...I might find that it has some features that feel positively luxurious in comparison. I might find that getting from point A to point B was all the more pleasant for the use of the new one. The noise level might make the use of it less jarring for other house (car) inhabitants.This blender is an amazing upgrade from the good quality blender I had. It produces much 'smoother' smoothies, more quietly, and is an absolute dream to clean. I am so happy not to have to disassemble the thing every time I clean it I could weep with joy.I don't write many reviews, but I wrote this one. In my humble opinion, this blender is worth it. Best Christmas gift I ever got myself.
