This certainly leaves my Oster in the dust! I splurged & got this, and very happy that I did! It's very easy to use & does a great job. Also love that it's self cleaning. The only thing that'd make this better, is if the container was glass (which I thought this would be, so was a bit disappointed). Not sure if Vitamix makes a glass replacement or not (?).

This VitaMix is our second one. Loaned the first to family member three years ago. Never got it back, so happy was I before, we just got a new one. Even my non-kitchen skilled husband makes his own smoothies, it's that easy. Cleanup could not be easier..a little hot tap water and dishwater detergent and system turned to high does a superb job of washing g it clean. I do dry the container with a very soft towel to do away with water spots and potential streaks. Wonderful product with gazillion uses for the kitchen. Go for it.

Had a ninja before this one. Had to use a strainer all the food using the Ninja. Vitamix there is no strainers needed. Food purees perfectly smooth. I make a lot of salsas and have been SUPER pressed with this blender. Cleanup is easy..just nlemd water and dishwashing.soap.

I make green smoothies regularly so I thought I'd buy this to replace my ninjia blender after a blogger I follow did a comparison between different blenders. This was the top rated blender in their tests and I can see why. My smoothies are as smooth as water! No chunks. Wow!!!! BUY THIS!

I bought this model Vitamix on the basis of an American Test Kitchen review on Youtube. They claimed that this model makes the best smoothies and purees because of its tall container, which creates a tornado type action and makes the smoothie or puree smoother and richer mouth feel. I can't speak for other Vitamix models, but the outcome is head and shoulders above any other blender I have ever owned (3 or 4). I have no issue with the lack of programmed buttons (I can count to 30 or 60 all on my own).It is also the easiest cleaning blender I have ever owned--just follow the instructions. It is as noisy as all the others on high speed; I wear airplane-type muff ear protectors. At lower speeds it is not noisy, but my needs require high speeds. As the ATK folks point out, the container is so tall that it won't fit under a standard container. I found a place for the base on my counter and store the container in the appliance garage where my old blender lived. It is super easy to fill the container at another point and place it on the blender when I'm ready to blend (my previous blender was difficult to position, so I put it on the base first).

This thing is a beast. It's powerful, rugged, easy to clean, and best of all does what you want it to. It's much quieter than I anticipated and extremely easy to use. Just make sure you follow the directions and start on the lowest setting and work your way up. Smoothies are easy. Put fruit in and blend them until it liquefies. Today I tried something a little more challenging. Guacamole. Easy, just do it nice and low so you don't end up with guacamole juice. At the lowest setting tomato pieces were still clearly visible and there were even chunks of avacado left. At first I couldn't justify spending so much on a blender, but my previous blender was a forty dollar piece of crap that was mostly plastic and after the SIXTH use it began smoking and smelling like burnt plastic. Now that my wife and I have a baby we plan to use it to make our own baby food and feel a sense of security knowing EXACTLY what goes into our son's food. Cleaning is a breeze, rinse it, then add a drop of liquid soap and some water and run it for about twenty seconds. The parts are extremely durable and has strong pliable rubber that can all be removed and rinsed off. Most blenders involve "locking it" into place, which if not performed correctly can result in a disaster.. With the VItamix, you merely place it on the base and it does the job. I have no regrets spending so much on a blender and I would strongly recommend it to anyone.
You Got Something?!
This is a pretty amazing device. Yeah, it's definitely more money than I wanted to spend on a blender/juicer, but when you realize how easy it is to use and clean, you start to feel like you got a pretty good deal after all. I mean, where I live 16-ounce juices at specialty juice stores can run you 8 bucks or more. What you realize with the Vitamix is that to make a ton of juice, you don't really need that much fruit, so I'll be saving more than I thought I would while drinking healthy and tasty juices more often. One beet, one apple, a cup of water (or pomegranate juice), and maybe some spinach or frozen strawberries cranks out a ton of juice (far more than 16 ounces. I learned this the hard way when I initially (not following any directions of course) dove right in and made way too much juice.Anyway, the cleaning of the machine is a piece of cake, and making the juices is so easy, too. There's so little prep (in the types of juices that I'm making anyway). My one complaint (given the 5-star rating, it's pretty minor you could say) is that it can be pretty loud. And, given that I am using it daily (or, on some days, multiple times in a day), I like to protect my hearing when I'm using it. I just bought a box of cheap ear plugs and I keep them in the cabinet above the Vitamix. I put them on every time I use it, as I don't want to lose my hearing prematurely. But, given the machine's versatility and its ease of use, I'm pretty stoked. It's an amazing machine. I'm considering buying one for family members at some point down the road.

The engineering and power on this thing is amazing. Smoothie shop tier smoothies (because the shops use Vitamix too) and a 7 year warranty.Plus, the engineering is fantastic. I found out after I bought it that the blades are designed dull to pulverize the contents, so you never need to worry about the blades getting dull, because they’re designed that way from day 1!The noise, however, is like a turbo jet taking off from my studio apartment at 6:30am. Sorry neighbors.

As somone who eats a lot of plants, I don't know how anyone can be a vegan without this amazing machine. There are a lot of copycats out there but the Vitamix is the Rolex of blenders. I use mine daily, if not mulitple times daily. It is great for making cream sauces out of nuts, as well as nut cheeses. You can whip up a cashew cream cheese in less than five minutes that will rival real cream cheese and is better than the commercial vegan cheese you can buy. This is powerful enough to make easy work of green smoothies. I burned up a regular blender trying to make a green smoothie in it. I use my Vitamix for making soups, ice cream, smoothies of all kinds, sauces, batters and so much more. It is part of what I think of as the trifecta of necessary appliances for plant-based cusine:The Vitamix, the Cuisinart Food Processor, and the Instant Pot, in that order.Vitamix also has excellent customer service and has responded to my needs immediately and usually without charge. I've had the one I'm using now for nearly 10 years. After 8 years, I started hearing a slight noise I didn't like and Vitamix customer service advised me to send the machine in because the warranty was still good for two more months. They rebuilt my machine and sent it back to me with a new carafe with no charge for shipping either way! I recently saw this one on sale over Christmas at a very good price. Realizing my machine was nearly 10 year old and will surely break eventually, I bought another and purchased an extra three year warranty. So, I'm good to go for another 10 years. This machine is even more powerful than my current machine, so I'm thrilled with this purchase. For now, I'm only using it for cooking videos and as a backup when cooking for large groups. I am thrilled with this purchase!
