Wow! Am a rabid smoothie & soup maker, so I finally bit the bullet after much deliberating / review reading. This kicked my (quite decent) Ninja Power IQ blenders' butt!! The smoothies and bisques that appear in under 20 secs are a dream. Can it get loud yes, but so's my vacuum, so whatever, & you never have to run this thing for more than 20 secs anyway. Off to buy the dry goods cup. At this price point, you will not find better!!

First let me say that I bought this product on Nov 29 (Black Friday) for $259, about $120 cheaper than it is right now. I got a good deal. It was still significantly more expensive than my last blender (an Oster) but I was enticed by the discount, needed a new blender, and was curious if the Vitamix was a good as everyone was saying. I was skeptical that it would be worth the money and I've only had it for a month so am still waiting to see how well it does in the long term. However, up to this point, I am very pleased with it and find it works very well for my needs. The pros:- the 2 Liter volume of the blender jar is double that of my Oster so I can do bigger batches of sauces and soups. (I like to do batch cooking.)- the blending power of the blades is excellent. I make a lot of plant-based sauces from soaked nuts and these need to be blended on high or else they can be a bit gritty. My cashew cream now comes out smooth and creamy.- cleaning the jar is very easy- it comes with a tamper and that is useful (a tamper is a plastic rod that you can use to agitate up the ingredients while blending)The cons:- I do not like the way the rubber lid attaches to the blending jar. It is difficult to secure on the jar and, after being secured, awkward to get off. That design seems flawed. So, I hold my hand on the top of the lid to make sure it doesn't come off.All in all, I'm pleased that I now have a Vitamix in my kitchen.

"I love this Vitamix Blender!" In, fact I love all the Vitamix products. They are well worth the price and purchase. I brought the Vitamix blender 5200 25 years ago when I was making the transition from meat to green smoothies and raw food. I cannot express in words enough about Vitamix blender and all their product are the best on the market. I was so impressed and satified with my blender when it stopped working after 25 years ( that's a long time), I did not hesitate to purchase another Vitamix Blender 5200. No other blender compares to the Vitamix 5200. I make delicious green smoothies that are great for my family and friends. This blender made it possible for me to change my life style of eating and overall health. I highly recommend this product to anyone. You can make smoothies, sorbets, dough for bread, nut butters, almond milk, baby food, dressing for salads, and even hot soup. Vitamix blenders are a great powerhouse when it comes to blending. It is a must for the kitchen. The blender is self cleaning and built to last, that's what makes Vitamix so great!!! I am a loyal and lifetime customer. I highly recommend the Vitamix Blender 5200. Try it, you will not be disappointed and you too will give it a great review.

upgraded 1 star to 5 star due to customer service - called Vitamix and they said it is under warrenty and they will send a shipping label and I can send it to them get it fixed and back at no cost to me (other than the trip to the post office) - so I am fine with that - had not registered the thing and expected a bunch of excuses and lecture on what I should have done - none of that - very pleased with the company for standing behind the product and love to use it when it works!!***********We got our first Vitamix from Costco and fell in love. When working properly the Vitamix is awesome and we have used the first one to make soups and sauces and smoothies. The first one started having a problem with the gears not catching and the machine sounding terrible - burnt wire/electrical smell coming from the machine while it was still working sometimes - have now seen another review mentioning this smell - then it stopped to work.Since we liked and used it so much, we decided to chalk the first one failing up to a bad individual machine and decided to give it another chance. The second one is now acting up the same way after only one year and maybe 30 uses. Very disappointed and now thinking this must be a pattern with Vitamix, maybe gears produced abroad with poor quality control? It says engineered and assembled in USA but God knows where the parts are actually made. Really feeling cheated for the money we spent on this and feel a fool for trusting them a second time.*************

If your reading this than your actually considering dropping $400-$500 on blender and probably have stong blending wants/needs. Go ahead and add this to your cart, yes it really is that good. I have owned almost every blender on the market under $100 and one, the most recent, around $130. Some were good at blending smothies (not the $130 one) but with heavy use did not last more than a year. Wife wanted a juicer but with a smoothie/blender you get much more of the plant/nutrition. So we forked out the cash and ordered the Vitamix. With the vitamix I'm now adding Kale, spinach, and carrots to my old smoothie receipe and they are actually significantly smoother with the vitamix, with all the extra veggies, than with the other blenders. It really is amazing to see/taste. Kids are actually making their on smoothies with veggies, cannot tell they are even in the drink. So far have only made smoothies (but with tons of stuff and blends it into smoothness). Even have used apples with the core...Outside of price, the only cons I've read is noise and having to use the "tamper".Cost: Nothing comes close to the performance of the Vitamix family, so you get what you pay for.Noise: My $130 blender is known for being quite but if you put it side by side with the vitamix and dial the vitamix down so it is at the same "volume"/loudness, it still FAR out blends the "quiter" blender. With smoothies, again with every veggie and little liquid, I have not found a reason really to go full tilt. Nice to know it can.Tamper: I'm assuming people use this for dry blending. Have blended apples to make apple sauce with now liquid and did not need it. There is no way any of the blenders I have owned cut have made such smooth apples sauce, forget without liquid. So if you do have to use the tamper, than probably very good reason for it.This really is one of those products that you marvel at how well it performs. At first it seems anti-climatic, looks real basic, dosent sound special when blending, but when you really start putting this through it's paces, it will blow your mind at how well it works.

Love this Vitamix

This blender is top notch! I have always used a Magic Bullet… but that doesn’t break down the food good enough and leaves chunks. This VitaMix literally liquifies!! I love it!!!

Best blender I’ve ever owned, could never go back to using anything else.

Got this for a super steal on Black Friday after having broken the Hamilton beach blender I used to have. I hated that blender and as such didn’t use it unless I had to. So when it broke and it was time for a new one I wanted one that I wouldn’t hate. This blends wonderfully. Smooth and quick even for a smaller amount of liquid. Nothing gets stuck under the blades. It is easy to clean. It’s a dream. I’m already stocking my freezer with frozen fruits for smoothies, making almond milk and generally looking forward to soups and such to make the most of this mighty guy. It does take significant real estate on the shelf but it’s worth it to have a blender that doesn’t suck.
