It’s nice but found a sharp object lodged in one of the rocks. My kids could’ve easily hurt themselves on.

I do not recommend this product as a gift as the product contains many tiny chipped pieces. It says over 250+ rocks, which this 250 number included tiny (trash) chip of rocks. It took me so much time to pick them out and throw them away before they get everywhere inside the house. Some larger pieces are great, kids and us we love them. We like the vinyl floor mat that came with the product. If there weren't so many tiny chipped rocks we would highly recommend this product.

We were all expecting larger, colorful and more stones as shown in picture. Very surprising when the bag was opened and small stones and way less. Definitely not impressed.

The kids and I have a good time with this, but it's nearly impossible to tell what some of the rocks and minerals or even the fossils are, because they look nothing like the pictures. Then there's mystery rocks and minerals that we have no clue what they are. That could be a good learning opportunity but without pictures to match them to, we can't learn. Some of the stones are minuscule and tough to clean up. Some have found a home in the vaccum cleaner already due to this.

Based on other reviews I knew these were tiny but I didn't realize 95% of it was going to be pebbles. I wouldn't recommend this as an educational product because the pebbles make this activity nothing more than guesswork. It's better to get large pieces from a local mineral shop so you know what you're getting...Also mine was full of this red gravel that looks like it came right out of my driveway :\ it might be red jasper but there's just so much of it and images of it online don't look like this. Found a piece of rubber in the bag, too.

A lot of this set was just crushed rocks. The main reason I purchased this was for the desert rose, which wasn’t even in the box. This was a gift for my daughter, who was quite disappointed.

Real Little Rock’s nothing like you’d expect .

I've purchased better kits. I'm returning this one. The stones are tiny and there are too many sharp clear "crystals" if that's what they are.
