My son really enjoyed going through the rocks and finding them on the board. We then went through and learned about the different rocks he really thought were cool.

I can't really comment on this as I bought it for my grandchildren whilst on holiday, I am still abroad for 1 month. It arrived within a few days

I bought this for my son for Christmas. He loves rocks and absolutely loved this kit!I was a little disappointed that there were a lot of really small rocks. I think I would have liked a few less rocks if they could be a little bigger. We also received a bunch of the same rock as well as quite a few of the polished rocks bring broken. The poster with the types of rocks is plastic which is nice, but it only has a few rocks on it and says you have to research all the others. I don't even know where to begin. My son really loved it though, and that's what matters.

The set is ok, and it’s good for studying the different types and comparing them. But half the kit is tiny chips, which makes this kit not worth the full price. I got it when there was a coupon, and for that price, I’ll still keep it. But I will not be ordering again, as originally planned. You get a small bag of polished rocks (handful), a small bag of rough unpolished rocks (a little more than a handful), and small box with the fossils (just a couple pieces), and then a large bag of tiny chips. If the kit had all small stones, it would be nice. But these chips are so so tiny, it’s hard to even hold and look at them. If you’re planning to use these to fill little bottles, then that’s about all I can think of that would make them useful. The kit comes with a magnifying glass and nice thick cloth bags to store everything in. The chart is thin plastic, somewhat like the dollar store table cloths or a playdoh mat.

This collection is definitely worth the price! I love it so much. I'd definitely recommend it as a gift for anyone you know who likes rocks.Update: Just bought this collection for a second time. The stones this time are wayyy smaller and some of the rocks seem like they're half polished. I also got some of the red gravel and a little piece of rubber too that another reviewer mentioned. The variety was great though and its overall still worth 17$ but what you get can very drastically each time.

This is not a digging kit. These gems come already in bags.

How excited my grandson was to explore this lit

Chart could of been better organized but otherwise, it has good stuff but difficult to identify

There’s so many tiny pebbles. There’s some good ones. It’s a nice set but I also got dancing bear collection for my older daughter and like it better because they aren’t so tiny. There’s so many tiny pebbles in this one that some just get lost and aren’t worth much. The bags that come with this one are very nice.

This is a nice set, but I just wish the mat that comes with it had more pictures of the rocks and minerals to help identify more of them. You get a bunch of them in baggies, and half of them you have no idea what they are.
