No Thermostat

Does not have any kind of thermostat, only Lo and Hi. The room frequently overheats because of this.

Only 4 options for thermostat

You can't program a specific temperature into the unit and unfortunately I need the precision. Other Honeywell heaters offer that precision. I would go for the HCE311V if I had the time. But that's not a guarantee the thermostat works correctly as evidenced by the AI summary for the 311V

Offgassing Severe

I'm not sure if I'll be able to edit this review if the problem goes away. So I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 2 just in case. If it didn't have this problem I'd likely give it 5stars. Right out of the box tonight, it kicked on super easy and warmed up our 150 sqft living room in just a couple minutes. Love it. It pans back and forth if you like which is also great. If you pick it up while it's running, it shuts itself off. You put it down and just hit the power button once and it resumes, excellent safety feature. Love it. I looked up what that chemical smell is that comes off newly manufactured products and found out its called "offgassing". My wife has chemical sensitivities. But I do not as far as I know. Just for reference, I'm not one of those people that thinks everything on Earth is toxic and wants to run and hide. A little reading online reveals that offgassing is common amongst most new products but most consumers aren't even familiar with the term. It's the same as the new car smell that lasts 2-10 years in a car, depending on the car. Turns out, it's the slow leaching of toxins from the new plastics over time into the air we breathe, apparently very bad for you. Eventually, and ideally, they go away. Soo, when I turned this thing on I was like, yup there's that new plastic smell. It had been on about 10min and I was getting a headache and my wife's eyes were stinging. So I left it on another 10min to get the room really warm and then opened all the windows and doors to air out our apartment, hoping it's just the first hour or so of use and it'll go away quickly(?) So the air's circulating quite well now and it's cooled off a bit in the adjacent rooms but the smell is really strong still and my head still hurts. On the upside, even with two big windows all the way open, the living room is still 73F!! with this little monster cranking and it's 59F out. Who knows, maybe we'll just heat the outdoors for a few days. RECOMMENDATION FOR NEW BUYERS: maybe try plugging it in for an hour or two outside if the smell bugs you. Hopefully it'll diminish over time. Maybe it'll need a few days outside. No idea. I'm not really a health nut, but there's something really wrong with things when you're body is telling you, "something's really wrong". Again, if I manage to get the smell to reasonably go away, I'll update the post if this review system lets me, and likely give it 4 stars. Else, it'll stay at 3 and me wishing I could bring it down to 2.

THERMOSTAT DIDN'T WORK

I chose this model for the thermostat so my room doesn't get overheated. I found when I chose a temperature setting, regardless of the setting the heater would work for about 2 minutes, then turn off and then not turn on again, even with the room getting quite cold. I did like the time setting which would turn off after a choice of 2,4 or 8 hours, which did seem to work, but I want to keep my room at a comfortable temperature over a long period of time. I packed the heater up and returned it, I'm looking for a suitable model.

BEEP, BEEP BEEP

Heater works great, I love the setting and the option to rotate and set timer. The only reason why I gave it 3 stars is because the noise. I bought this for my office which I share with 4 other coworkers. Everytime you turn on heater the loudest beeping noises goes on and for every button you press its BEEP, BEEP, BEEP. It's now a running joke when I turn it on. It's too bad this option wasn't available to shut OFF, SOUNDLY.

Not bad

It isn’t the easiest to use. More buttons than necessary but definitely warms a small space. Quiet.

It heats but...

I like most things about this heater. I like the fact that it heats well. It has two functions basically which is one with a timer and one that gives continuous heat. It also oscillates which is my favorite part. The continuous function is great! The first function however, which is the timed one, kind of sucks. I tried putting it on a timer and it literally stopped for the allotted amount of time instead of heating for that time. The last thing I didn’t really like was that the manual had a digital temperature indicator so it may have been for a different version of the same heater. But the main function is that it heats, which it does. That’s why it got a 3.

Meh

it works okay. If you set in to 65 is usually keeps the room at 68 but if you set it to 70 it'll stay on until the room reaches 80!

For very small space!!

Not noisy, however only one speed on the fan. Does not project the heat very far. I think it would work as an under desk heater.

Eh

The heat doesn’t go very far. While some said it can heat up their apartment in 30-so minutes, I couldn’t say the same for myself. I can definitely feel the heat up close, but this definitely did not surpass the expectations.
