The FoodSaver VS3120 is as advertised! It's a quick fix to preserving my families food during a strenuous economic time. It's easy for us to throw left overs away instead of preserving the food. Thanks to the food saver, we're ahead of the game. I initially thought it was defective when my bags didn't automatically seal after vacuuming. I wasn't placing the bag far enough in the machine. This was a new idea and to help break down our freezer/fridge stock. We did our grocery shopping and separated the meats, tortillas, etc. This allows for dry Vacuum and seal or wet Vacuum and seal. Read the instructions, have your children even participate. So easy to use. Did steaks with seasoning and plain chicken breast. Tortillas for fun in sets of 10. Great product! Not too big or bulky, works like a charm on meats that I bagged for freezing. I like the flexibility of creating whatever size bag you need.

If you do not put the top of the bag to about the top of the drip tray, then no, it won't seal properly. But if you do it right, it's AMAZING. Its called "user error". Just check out a YouTube video or something. I love mine.

I'm able to buy fresh meat in bulk and portion it out and vacuum seal it to keep it fresh. While only using what I need to feed my family without wasting any and saving money buying in bulk.
