First use today, so maybe... my last sealer was a Nesco. Worked great for about 5 years before the vacuum motor failed. So, won't know much about lifespan yet. It is quieter, but slow. I like the lock and the seal so far. I seal a lot at one time so it will take longer. Time will tell. It's at least average, works as advertised.

There is no way to hold the bag and ensure a good seal. Most of the seals are bad because the bag crimps when you close the latch. Going to return it and find a refurbished earlier model.

This product is not a easy to use as the last one I had. We thought the manual option would be better and less parts to break. The problem is it is hard to figure out where to put the bags and how to use it product. Not real happy.

I recently purchased this model as my old FoodSaver wore out after eight years of use. I am not pleased with the new features. The lid will fall on my hand (ouch!) if I have not pushed it hard enough to catch. I do not like the heating element exposed. I do not like having to CRANK the handle to turn it on every for every bag - twice actually - to make bag and to seal when filled. My hand joints hurt after sealing 12 pounds of beans in 2-cup bags. I would LOVE to take it back and get another like my old one! New, but NOT improved.

Now a quick sealer like the ones I had before ..the first one was the best

What size rolls fit in this vacuum sealer? The roll I bought is too thick and don't fit when you close the lid.

I bought this approx 18 - 20 months ago and immediately loved it! However, it stopped vacuuming completely about six months ago and never switches to the seal feature. I read up on it and the overwhelming response was to replace the seals. So... I attempted to order replacement seals only to be told they don't make them, but there is one that will fit. Sort of. I love the fact that I can take advantage of food sales but not thrilled that this machine is temperamental. I'm torn because I want to replace it but feel I shouldn't have to after using it once a month on average AND I don't know if I'll have the same problem if I purchase a different model.
