Used this in my 2012 Elantra with my iPhone 6 and 8 plus and it works great overall. However, having used it for over a year now, the prongs that grab the air vent are now getting exposed through the rubber and it doesn't grip as hard anymore. When I pull my phone off the magnet, it just ends up pulling the mount off the vent with it because the prongs are probably bent a little wider now after being used so long. This can be pretty frustrating having to keep putting the magnet back onto the vent each time I remove my phone. Also another issue was that because of how my dashboard design comes out a bit over my middle air vent, it's difficult to attach my phone properly being that it can't fit flat against the vent. But I just use it on the vent by the driver's window instead. Not ideal though when my wife also wants to see the map while we're driving. Of course this is the car design, not the fault of the product. Just something that buyers should be aware of before buying.

We found these to be simple, secure and easy to work with, and has minimal obstruction of a vent when not used to hold something. They grip well and generally are solid. The metal plates included are substantial, so good coverage. Our only observation is that the suggestion to place a plate between your phone and case, however, isn't strong enough for a solid grip. While a phone never dislodged, it does move around quite a bit. Applying the plate to the back of the case did the trick. My case is functional, not aesthetic, so it didn't harm the appearance or use at all. That may not be your situation. By the way, keep in mind, this is still a magnetic hold device, and not an armature or other physical gripper. If you drive down a road that looks like it has been shelled with Smurf launched bunker busters and for sport you try to drive only on the pavement that isn't pockmarked like an acne cratered pre-teen that has never heard of astringent, then you can't expect your phone to not move or rotate at least a little bit. But even so, to date, I've never had to pick the phone up off the floor.

I love this magnetic mount- in my car. In my parents cars- meh. It really is all about how the vents are positioned in your car. Definitely look at that before purchasing this mount. For example, in my moms cars, the vent is almost directly behind the steering wheel so its almost impossible to see the phones directions when driving. However in my car, the vent is in the perfect position and I love it. If you are using over the size of an iPhone 5 and especially any Plus models, be prepared to use 2 magnets, preferably the rectangular versus the circle. As far as adhesion, no one in my family used this feature because we all have cases. We simply hid the magnets inside the case so we don't need to see them. Now that I'm writing this, could be why we need to use more magnets...

I like that it is a very good magnet. Don't live that sometimes the whole thing comes off the vent instead of just my phone.

These holders are easy and simple to use, they are just one piece, unlike the last holder I had which was very complex, heavy, and I was constantly having to tighten it, so it wouldn't fall out of the vent. These are much lighter, and the magnets are very strong. The phone sits very close to the vent so there isn't a lot of wiggle room which will prevent it from not falling out as much. Only if the weather is really cold and you have the heat on high, your phone will get pretty warm, but so far this hasn't caused my phone any problems I have an IPhone7. I liked how they came in a set of 2 so one can be a backup or go into the passenger vent, and also pretty good for the price. As far as versatility they have no pivot action as they are one piece so your phone just sits at whatever angle your vent is, which for my situation isn't really a problem. I've been using these for about a month, and they hold my phone. I give them 4 stars.

While I like how easy this installs, they do block your vent and the weight of the phone will make the vent tilt down even if the vent isn't fully covered up by your phone. When removing your phone they tend to slide back off the vent as well. Just installed them so we'll have to see how they work in the long run. It is better for using your phone for Pandora or Spotify or even for your downloaded music on your phone. Better than having your phone sitting in a cup holder or up on your dash for sure.

I like the product, but it stays attached when I try to remove the phone.
