Impressed it holds my iPhone 11 with thick protective cover. It slips off of the similar one in my husbands car. Highly recommend

This was a great purchase! My package came with 2 so I shared with my daughter. I'm in outside sales so in and out of my car all day, this keeps my phone in place and at hands reach at all times and have had no problems taking it off and on all day. The magnets that come with adhesive backs don't actually have to be stuck to your phone or case. I just slipped mine under my phone case and it works perfect. Great find!

Often times I wonder how many reviews are real. I purchased this as the price was cheap enough to take a gamble. What a pleasant surprise. This works awesome for my wife's S9 and my Note 8. I placed the metal between the phone and case and the magnetic force holds the phone very well. I drive a Ram 3500 which isn't very soft, especially on rough roads, but this holds very well; no issues. The mount that attaches to the vents has two options, one a bit more narrow than the other (you need to rotate it). I found I needed the narrow option to fit better; the wider slot allowed the clip to pull out of the vent when removing the phone. I wireless charge my phone so it took a bit of experimentation with positioning the metal plate to allow both the phone to attach to the mount, as well as wireless charge. It is possible with the Note 8. I don't know about the S9 as my wife uses one of those pop-out things on the back which prevents her from using wireless charging anyhow. Overall, great product!

This system uses strong magnets embedded in a rubber-like base to slide onto automobile vent grills. Newly installed, but appears to grip firmly. Magnets are strong and hold our phones securely. Magnets are strong enough to allow their alternative mounting of placing the included metal plate between the phone and its case, so nothing is stuck onto the phone or its case. Comes with two sets of mounting plates and protective sheets.

These devices worked perfectly on our iPhone 8 work phones. Despite our phones being in Ghostek waterproof cases and some rough jostles over potholes and such, they never once separated from the magnetic mounts, nor did the mount itself dislodge from the air vent. The metal plates, even the small ones, did interfere with and prevent the wireless charging feature of our phones if the plate was located in the middle of the phone where the wireless charging coil is located. Moving the metal plate to the top, or bottom, end of the phone solved that issue. We did notice that if the metal plate was located at the bottom of the phone, the phone would tend to drift/twist when jostled due to it being a bit top heavy...but simply placing the phone upside down on the mount, so most of the weight was below the mount, solved that little problem. All in all...an excellent, low profile, solution for mounting phones to air vents where you can actually see them when using GPS/maps.

After 3 years of using this magnet I ended up replacing it somewhat by accident, but I'm glad I did. It was starting to not grip as well and fall off when I was taking my phone off, but it still worked. Overall I'd say the value makes it well worth it to get three years of good use.

I gave this 5 stars not because it's perfect, because it isn't, but because it's just so easy to use, so versatile (it comes with sticky tape, but I don't want it to be a "permanent" installation), and so cheap. I wanted it for GPS driving directions, and with this little gadget I can use it for navigating as either the driver or the passenger. I'm currently using one of these as a driver in a Ford F-150 truck. The choices for air vents are not optimal. If I put it on the one to the right of the driver, I knock the phone off when I shift gears. If I put it farther to the right, to the left of the passenger, then it swivels around every time I go around a curve and I have to bring it back to face me. Also, it's really too far to tell what's going on with the phone. So I ended up putting it to the left of the driver near the window. That cuts off cool air on hot days when the sun comes in that window, but everything else is good. I managed to install it in such a way that it doesn't swivel, and the phone gets braced against a knob underneath (lights, I think - which don't come into play as often as shifting) so I can easily touch the screen if I need to. I can see directions if using Google Maps, and I can also easily see who's calling or texting. We also have a Prius, and I'll come back later to update this after I have used the gadget in that car.
