Flaw in the design

Always having problems with this machine. I only use this machine once a week and constantly cleaning it, but now it doesn't work at all. It is so tiring to want to make one cup of coffee, but the machine blinking and not working.

LASER reader stopped working

It was fine while it lasted, but our laser reader apparently stopped working and we could NOT brew coffee anymore. We've only had the machine for 2 years... would not recommend due to the lifespan.

Do not choose this machine

We have used Nespresso for years. We thought we would upgrade from our VertuoPlus machine to the VertuoNext to be able to explore all the coffee options that Nespresso offers. However, it is going way back in time. The VertuoNext machine is very manual, almost feels like you are forcing it to make you a coffee. You have to push down the lid with force while simultaneously turning the leaver to lock it. The whole machine moves on the counter trying to just close the lid. It is also louder than the VertuoPlus. And unfortunately the reason we purchased the VertuoNext for the range of coffee options, like the 12oz coffees, but spoiler alert, the VertuoNext machine is too short to fit a mug that can hold 12oz under the spout. We had to sit the machine on a cutting board to be able to fit our larger mugs underneath. Overall, we have been using the VertuoNext for two months now and we are not impressed. Once our 12oz capsules are done will switch back to our older VertuoPlus machine. I do not recommend the machine to anyone new to Nespresso or existing customers.

Doesn’t work well

It’s supposed to know what it is brewing based on the code on the pod, but mine routinely overflows the cup. I have reset it to the factory settings, but it continues to do this.

Loved it until it stopped working

Loved it until it stopped working. Unfortunately, the issue happened just after the warranty expired. While the vertuo next worked, the coffee it made was amazing, creamy almost. Still, disappointed that it stopped working. Might have been a fluke as Nespresso's machine tech indicated they typically have a longer lifespan.

Overflows Easily-- auto shut-off is unreliable

After about 6-8 weeks of casual use, this machine's auto shut-off has stopped working. I have to monitor the coffee and figure out when I think it should be done and manually stop it myself -- otherwise, the coffee will be diluted and/or the cup will overflow.

good coffee, poorly made

This is not a great product. While it makes fantastic coffee, it is very poorly engineered. It very often does not work properly. The main issue is that it will suddenly not brew on a given morning. I have no problem following the descaling instructions but why, why, why not just have a descaling button?

Horrible machine but love the coffee

I'll start by saying I love the coffee when my machine works but the machine itself is very unreliable and from reading other reviews and reddit threads im not alone. have had nothing but problems with this machine since I bought it I'm always having to run the cleaning cycle (sometimes daily) and waste pods when this happens. I attempted to download the app to be able to see in advance when it needs to run a cleaning cycle and was told it was not compatible with newer phones. I'm so frustrated it's not longer worth trying to constantly fix. I would suggest trying a different machine over this one.

Good while it lasted -- then leaked, then quit

Good while it worked, then...the red flashing death mug. I would unplug the machine and it would work for a few times. Then I had to unplug AND shake it. Then it started leaking from the bottom. Now.... nothing works. It makes the hopeful whirrring and then pfffft. Red light. No coffee. I checked here to see if they've improved the machines since I got mine a few years ago, seems like they haven't. So....I've been opening my remaining capsules of coffee with a knife and using my aeropress.. The capsules are too expensive to risk the machine dying. Frustrating that this is still such a problem.
