What you need to know, no more!

I own the Jackery Explorer 240 and the 1000 models and have had great results with them, so I figured the new Explorer 300 would be an excellent power station too. It is interesting to note that the 240 and the 300 models are the exact same size (i.e. for a case or other needs). I tested the 12v outlet to see if it had regulated voltage output and when the battery was at 44% SOC (state of charge), the power was at 13.49 volts, so yes, it is regulated. This means it can run many electronics longer because they will not shut off due to low voltage. Using a Kill A Watt meter to monitor the Jackery 300 while powering it through the AC plug (inverter) it shows that this power station produced 248Wh which is about an 85% efficiency rating (this is from none professional equipment). The meter also showed that it produced 110.5 volts at 60.3 Hz. This Jackery also has a MPPT solar controller for more efficient charging, and charge times have greatly been reduced from the previous models. I did a test and charged both my 240 and my 300 from 10% SOC and it took 6 hours and 42 minutes for the 240, and only 4 hours and 7 minutes for the 300. This is well in the range of a total of 4.5 hour to fully charge the 300 as advertised by Jackery. Extrapolating the 240 to the same watt hours of the 300 I estimate it would take about 8 hours and 20 minutes to charge it. The 300 charged at an input of 76 watts at the start, and the 240 charged at an input of 39 watts at the start based on the display. It also has a Pure Sine Wave inverter for a cleaner energy supply unlike some other power stations. Cables are much better quality and are longer than the original Explorer 240 (7’ for the 300 vs 3.5’ for the 240). Jackerys are also known for their superior build quality, see below*.There are three things I would like changed in the Jackery 300, but they are very minor. I prefer a square or rectangular shape for efficient storage in my small Class B RV. I would also like earth tone colors for better stealth (I don’t need people knowing what I own and where to find it while I am camping). The Jackerys all have an orange coloring on them making them more visible than I like. The more important thing I would want to make the 300 a better unit is to have a typical charging port on it instead of the 8mm connection, such as an Anderson connection like the Jackery Explorer 1000 comes standard with.Pros:• Superior build quality*• MPPT controller• Pure Sine Wave 300 watt inverter (500 watt surge)• Quicker re- charge than past models (2x per my test)• Regulated 12 Volt outlet (at 13.5 volts)• Excellent Display showing % good, input & output wattage• Only 7 poundsNeutrals:• 500 charge cycles to 80% capacity (I prefer LiFePO4 chemistry)Cons (minor):• Shape (I prefer square or rectangular)• Bright Orange Color (I prefer neutral or stealth colors)• I wish for a more common charging port such as an Anderson connectorFeatures:• 293Wh Lithium Battery• Pure Sign Wave 300 watt inverter (500 W surge)• MPPT Solar Controller• Regulated 12 volt output 10A w/cover (cigarette plug)• Two AC outlets• Quick charge capability• Display with watts in/out & battery percent good• USB-C 60W• USB-A 3.0 Quick Charge• USB-A 5v, 2.4A• 8mm Input connector• Individual on/off buttons• Plastic Case• Rubberized feetIncluded in the box:• Warranty card• Manual• A small register card• Case for cables• AC Adaptor in 2 parts• Car Charger Cable for cigarette plug• Jackery Explorer 300 Power Station*There is an interesting video on YouTube where Will Prowse cut opened a Jackery and checked its interior built quality. This man is very knowledgeable with batteries and solar systems, check out his many video reviews. He found the Jackery to be extremely well designed with large gauge wires, quality soldered circuit boards, what appeared to be a superior BMS etc. He has looked at many other power stations and none were constructed quite as well. This video alone convinced me to purchase my first Jackery.

Updated

Update 5-27-23I ordered this as part of a combo with a 100w solarsaga panel. The solar panel has since quit working. I tried dealing directly with Amazon which got me nowhere because it was outside the 30 days. So I contacted the mfr to get a replacement with the 90 day warranty. I sent video proof and they set up to have me ship it to them. They paid shipping but not the packing. They've now had my solar panel for 3 days, shipping to them was 6 days thru FedEx (their choice). I still have no word if or when they will be sending me a replacement. They only state "As soon as a tracking number has been created we will let you know". With the quality of customer service it might be wiser to deal with one of these cheaper brands still trying to make their name.I love this thing. I live in a tent ⛺️ and this thing keeps my vape, Bluetooth speaker, phone, and lantern charged up. I can charge each of these daily for about a week before a charge is required. I bought the 100w solar panel to go with it and now I am never without power. The solar panel is able to charge this back up to 100% every day while I am at work. I have not used any ports except the USB ports. The USB ports appear to have an auto off when no power is being drawn. The USB-C port does not charge my phone at 45w but at 27w. I thought it was rated for up to 60w but that may be input only. The only thing I would change is the location of the solar panel port to the side or back.I would also add a little work light on the handle.I would definitely recommend an item similar to this one.

A must for apartment dwellers.

I live on the west coast of Florida, and this is a must for life during a storm or hurricane. I can power multiple lamps and a small micro wave. I have a smaller one for powering my modem and router so I can use my laptop during power outages, since the fiber optic system usually stays on during a power outage. The added benefit is the fact that it can recharge flashlights, phones, etc.

Everyone I know wants one

This thing is literally so freaking handy to have around. I used to to set up my sewing machine in a storage unit. I used it to bring a light and fan into an old trailer I was cleaning out. I used it to set up a Christmas tree in the middle of the room and run the string lights with no cables to trip over. I use it for camping, road trips, or just going to the lake. Wherever I take it people are impressed by its usefulness. The battery also lasts a long time and charges fast. I didn’t realize how much I needed an external battery like this until I had it. I love the display and buttons to select the power output, I feel like I always know what’s going on with my battery (which is nice since it’s often my only power source when I take it out). This is the perfect gift for anyone you know who spends time outdoors.

When you're in TX in the summer...or winter...

And your grid is a joke and so is your governor, you get one of these! We've had weeks of rolling blackouts, but at least now I can charge our phones to check the Oncor website, plug in a fan, plug in a lamp or whatever else we need to make it through a few hours (it says ~8 hours) without power. I've read that people with RVs also love this product, but I'm telling you -- if you live in TX or any other state with insane highs and lows -- you NEED this product.

Love this thing

Whenever I travel, I always bring this along. I have used it to charge phones, tablets, other small devices... and my car fridge. It charged my fridge overnight and still had 50 percent charge in the morning. Saved a lot of food from going bad on a road trip. Really impressed.

This Power Source can power a 50-watt Tube Amp plus a Keyboard for two hours

I wanted to do my best for an Easter Sunrise Service. This handy device allowed me to use my favorite synthesizer and an actual 50-watt amp. The unit has two AC 120 volt plugs. I tested the unit at home for two hours. Then it worked like a champ for over one hour at the actual service. I can imagine having some fun with this device on a short camping trip. Deluxe air mattress. Plug in my huge boom box. You name it.I have not tried it with a solar array yet.

I use it for pop up markets. So far about 15 times. Works great. Love the digital readout.

If the charger could be part of the unit? Cable wraps up on or in it? Deploy it when you need to charge it?
