Simply plug in the enclosed adapter and place the phone on the pad. I own an iPhone 14pro and my phone, in its case, readily connected on the pad. There is ample space which helps with this connection yet not so big that it takes up a lot of space on my desk. It is great that I can use the phone while it is charging on a flat surface. The pad is non-slip which helps the pad stay on a flat surface in case it is accidentally pushed. The speed of charge was good but not as fast as I expected. Not a deal breaker as this is the charger I will keep at work, and I am not in hurry to get it charged. I can place it on the charger and do my tasks as my phone is charging. It is a nice charger to have on your nightstand, side table or work desk and just leave there when you need a charger instead of always looking for a lightning cable and adapter. This charger claims to be universal which I cannot attest to since I only own Apple products. Yet it is a reputable brand which I highly recommend.
