Great idea, unfortunately it doesn't work like it should

Someone had a great idea. But today, the cans are very thin. To hold the can tight and turn the opener, or the other way around, is the first challange. After the blades had been cut the first hole into the can, you need to be carefully, NOT to squeze the can out. With those thin cans, the rolling blades don't like to cut the aluminum, like they should. Result is, that part of the lid is open, but still hangs on one or two other spots. Now try to get the ld out of the can. Not twizer or plier around. Of course. When having the luck, that all is material cut, the lid falls into the beer. Or soda. Or what ever is in the can. Not really satisfying. Again, if it would work properly, it would be a great gadget.

Cheap

Feels likes a happy meal toy. Used it twice, so an update is due after more use.

Love the idea but wish it worked better

This tool works as intended about 1/3 of the time. It performs particularly poorly on 16 ounce cans. The can won’t withstand the torque necessary to cut the aluminum. It’s now just a fridge magnet.

Not worth it

Thought this would be a fun gift for my buddies for Christmas. They arrived and I immediately opened mine. What better excuse to have a beer? Took a try or two to get the entire lid separated. When it did, it was sitting in my beer and I had to fetch it out with my fingers. 1. At the time, my fingers had no place in my beer. 2. Neither did the lid!! Who knows how dirty it was. So, I don’t see myself using this. Unfortunately, I think my friends will likely appreciate the gift but not use it for the same reasons. I spent over $80 for four of these and really regret it. May return them if I can come up with another idea soon for my friends gifts. The design is pretty cool as is the concept. Seems there is an opportunity to hook to the pull tab so the lid does not fall in when it releases. There is text on the packaging that says “REMEMBER: The objective is to open the can, not remove the lid”. WTF does that mean? Don’t be mad if it does not work? Or, don’t be disappointed when you are fishing your lid out of your beer with your fingers? Whatev.

Didn’t work on 12oz cans.

I bought this item to use on vintage 12oz cans, unfortunately it did not work. This item seems 3D printed, and it’s a good concept, however it still needs some work. Two stars for the concept and the packaging.

Can crusher

This doesn’t just pop off the top. It crushes the can as you have to spin back and forth the top. Then you have to try and get the top out, as it’s supposed to be magnetic but it doesn’t fully release. Maybe it’s not good on sodas but it’s not giving. Can and hands must be bone dry, no condensation.Hold from button for most grip.Still creates slip and can even ruin your entire can. I don’t recommend.

Great idea, can be messy..

Purchased item to give a "What the hell type thing" - Pulled it out for Easter Brunch on the patio for people to try... Simple concept, place on top of can, squeeze, and turn... Well, alum. cans don't have a very thick wall, so you have to be careful not to grip the can to hard or it will crush it... The other issue is you have to make full rotations a few times, to make sure that the lid was cut... Multiple people tried it, and we like the idea.. Don't know if we have a Dull blade wheel or something...

Nice idea, but this thing is junk

This product does not really work well. All these positive reviewers are overlooking the fact that it takes forever to get the top off, you have to squeeze it really hard and rotate it around the entire can multiple times. The can will crush inwards as soon as pressure releases which causes liquid to spill out and the fact that you have to grip it so tightly to turn it so the rollers can cut through the can makes this almost impossible to avoid. There is no way to know if the lid is completely cut off and often times it is left hanging by a piece and you have to either twist it off and leave a sharp piece of metal there or reattach the unit and spin it a few more times. Once the lid is removed it stays in the can so you have to fish it out with your fingers or have some kind of tool handy to deal with that as well.In the end it will work if you are patient with it, but it is a pain to deal with and you will grow tired of the novelty of turning cans into cups very quickly so save yourself the dollars and just use your thumb to pop the can open the way it was designed to be used. I do wish someone would make a version of this that actually works.

Not worth it.

I gave this product 2 stars because it kind of works, but not well. You're better off buying a standard can opener. I'll elaborate.First off, this product just feels cheap. The lever feels like it's seconds away from breaking. It's almost like a pipe cutter that has dull blades. The pressures required to actually cut the top off a can is ridiculous. It doesn't even cut well. Takes too long.Second; this product only works with standard 12 ounce cans and barely 16 ounce cans. Now that might not seem like a problem for most people that only drink soda and energy drinks, but let's be real. This product is marketed towards alcoholic beverage consumers, particularly the craft beer market. Beer, whether it be craft or macro/large breweries, make cans of all shapes and sizes. Six point brewery uses a coor's style slim can. Fosters has oil cans. Sapporo has a weird pint glass shaped can. 24+ Tall boys are wider than standard 12-16 ounce cans. The draft-top DOES NOT work on this cans.Third; the directions are horrendous. Unless you're one of those people that clean the tops of your cans (at the very least you should wipe them down), pushing your can top into your beverage is a disgusting concept.Fourth; the price. For the money you spend on this contraption, you can buy multiple standard soup gear driven/lever can openers. And guess what? Those work on all cans. To make a standard can opener work on a beer can: take your can opener and place the cutting wheel inside the lid at a slight angle. Begin turning the crank lever. Before meeting your cut all the way through, take the opening tab and pull it up. Place a fork or something small enough and long enough to put through the tab so it can rest on the outer lid of the can. Complete your cut. Lift the fork/whatever to lift the lid up and away from the fluid inside. Drink. All in all, it's a novel idea. The execution and quality is a miss.
