I like the scooter very much but one of the batteries has died on me and Handy is charging over $100. For a new one.

UPDATE: I reached out to the company, they didn't question my claim and sent a replacement battery. Can't get any better than that. Yes, having a battery die quickly wasn't enjoyable, but I'm SUPER impressed how they handled it. Hopefully it was just a bad batch.ORIGINAL REVIEW: My 92 year old father went to use the scooter and one of the batteries would not charge. FRUSTRATING. I have a note into Super Handy customer service. I'll repost with how well they do.

Easy to use and sturdy, comfortable seat. Easy to get off and on. Has good power. Rear wheel base was too wide for easy mobility inside my home. Nuts that secure rear wheels easily scratch furniture and walls. Had to return as main concern was our small dog was staying too close and I had concern of harming him while moving, which has nothing to do with the product. Company promptly refunded our money. I would recommend provided you have wide open floor space if using inside your home.

Love this scooter. Bought before our vacation in December 2022. Batterys don't last in mileage as it says. Loved how I can get around airport. Baggage guy are rough. Wait to tell them how to disassemble. Got home only with one battery working. Its best to buy one or two batterys. Overall great scooter. Oh you need to remove both batteries before you check in at ramp. No lithium under plane.

It's inexpensive, very lightweight compared to most similar scooters, and has a good range. It goes fast enough on flat ground (faster than a comfortable walking pace), and can make it up wheelchair ramps and light slopes - this was while I was testing it out, and I tip the scales at over 240lbs, so with a lighter person it could probably do even better. This was purchased for my father-in-law at an independent living facility, and it's been quite a hit amongst the old folks there. It's strikingly small and has a great turning radius, which is necessary for navigating his small apartment and the hallways and dining areas. There's a few things you need to know - not cons, just information:1. It coasts when you let go of the accelerator. This can be surprising if you're expecting it to come to a stop quickly. You need to use the brakes.2. Being three-wheeled and very light, it's not too hard to tip over. If you lean into turns a little bit you'll have no problems, but if you whip around a corner without compensating, you could fall.3. It's difficult to get the steering column to lock firmly in place, so it's too easy for the handlebars to be not quite straight. That one is kind of annoying; I'd deduct half a star for that if I could. So I'd give it 4.5 stars overall, and I would have rounded that up to 5 stars but for one issue: the clamp which locks the main bar together broke on our first one after less than a day. Not just came loose; the actual metal of the clamp sheared completely apart. I happened to be on it at the time and not moving, so nothing bad happened. But if my father-in-law had been driving when it happened, it would have been catastrophic; it would have folded in half at speed and dumped him onto the floor. Pretty scary. We decided to order a replacement because I hadn't seen any other reviews mention a similar breakage. Amazon quickly shipped a new one (even before I boxed up and returned the broken one), and he's been driving it daily for over a month, so we're reasonably sure the first failure was a fluke. Still, I didn't think I could rate it five stars in good conscience. Overall I do still recommend it, and would buy another one if I knew someone else who could use a scooter.

I ordered this before I read more reviews on it. Did no accept delivery of it. I don't need it for local use. Just wanted it for when I go on vacation. I found out it didn't have keys to lock it, so I can't use it. Don't want to have to take both batteries with me when I get out of it. Then it would be even lighter in weight, so anyone could just pick it up and run. I would have really liked it if it had just had a key.

I really like my scooter. It gets me where I need to go and is easily taken down and put back together.Only problem is it went on sale one day after I got mine for 100.00 less than what I gave forit. I am disabled and it was really a hardship to pay for it anyway and that was a lot less money and money I could really use right now because of sickness in my family. I could return my scooter and then buy back at cheaper price but will not do that because I really need it right now !!!. It really is a great scooter though. You will be pleased.

I have had a hip issue which requires me to put no weight on one leg. Without this portable scooter I would be beached. Thus I am grateful for it and depend on it. If you need a scooter inside, this one has a small footprint. Going through some of my doorways is a challenge because I have to turn to go through another doorway immediately. This can make it through without hitting walls, but I only manage to do this 50% of the time. I’m sure some of you will be better drivers than am I. It’s comfortable enough. Inside it does not go 6 miles but a battery charge lasts for me about 2 days. I had a problem with the first one I bought in that the seat began to wobble, until the weld underneath broke completely. There is a post under the seat holding all your weight. It appears welded and screwed and inset. If your seat starts to wobble, turn the scooter over and check it. The company provided me a replacement part but it did not arrive for about 2 weeks. Amazon sent me a new scooter, no charge and much appreciated. However the front post to the handle wobbles. It’s firmly attached and I can use it, but I have asked the company if this is normal and I’m waiting for a response. It has been weeks and I don’t have a resolution yet.If you buy this, make sure you always lock the brake in place. It can require some hand strength but it can be adjusted. I doubt it weighs a mere 26 pounds. The rear section is rather heavy to lift. Maybe it’s just me, but my granddaughter who is strong and able says, it’s too difficult for her to lift. Some people lift with no problem. Taking it apart is a bit awkward. If you are mechanically inclined and kneel and can bend and lift or if you have someone to assist , this will be easy for you. I like products that are not complicated with too many electronics. This doesn’t have any. This is a good alternative to an electronic wheelchair. How long it will last, I don’t know. I’ve had it for a little over 4 months and use it every day. I have concerns about using it extensively out of doors. It seems to slip on wet ground. It doesn’t go over twigs easily. I doubt it would be good 0n dirt, but if you are on clear pavement and it’s not raining, you’d probably be okay. I use it regularly to get to the car, in parking lots and stores. The front basket is great advantage over a wheel chair for transporting.I’m not sorry I bought this but it could use some enhancements. I note there is a newer model. It would be good if there were someone mechanical in the house.
