Heavier than expected but does the job

This is my second time buying this shovel. It is simply awesome.Shipping the second time was a mess. The first delivery was recalled and the order canceled a day before delivery was done. I had to order again and it took much longer than the norm to get to me.

Sooooooo HEAVY!!

Shovel is heavy. I thought this would be an advantage for digging around roots, but it is really more awkward. Too much force can bend the shovel where the metal meets the handle. I think a sharpened, sturdy regular shovel will work as well along with shears or a sharp mattock for cutting stubborn roots.

I thought this shovel would go through dirt and roots easier than it does. For me, it wasn’t a good purchase. But, I’m older and not particularly strong so my expectations may have been too high.
